On my first look ... (ie, 15 mins of playing) Nice to haves: - A 'help' menu - Units on the end of numbers in the graph pop-ups (ie, OC Bailout Required - L or CuFt?) - I'm on Imperial, so most likely CuFt, but it would be nice to be sure) - An option to convert the waypoint depth between metric/imperial automatically Bugs: (AKA, undocumented features )- I entered in a few number and got a really wonky bailout - go to 67 ft for 1 min - go to 67 ft for another min - go to 37 ft for 2 min - go to 60 ft for 8 min!!! This is what I entered as far as waypoints: 20/2-21/0-1.3 100/8-21/0-1.3 60/22-21/0-1.3 - I couldn't get the profile details to go back to chronilogical order after accidently sorting by depth - It did fix itself when I changed the profile - Why would you want to sort a bailout profile by depth, CNS, PO2, ...??? ![]() ![]() - Real time update doesn't apply until you change a number - ie, change to metric, it stays imperial until you edit a 'non-menu' (I have't read all the posts, so forgive me if are repeats) ![]() I actually plan on using tool-tips to give a lot more help for any area of the UI. - Units - They are coming - They're be reflected everywhere. Rest assured that I am actually NOT converting numbers for all the math, only for display. - Converting between units - Yup - I have to do this if or no other reason than my own sanity when testing ![]() - Wonky bailout - Define wonky In all seriousness, what would you have expected (number-wise)?- Real time update - Yes, there a re couple of spots that don't trip it yet - They will. Thanks for the feedback. b. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: New FREE Beta Deco Software for Linux/Mac/Windows - Need Testers A real "nit-picky" thing. If I put in a mix of 20/20 for example, the sliders are not aligned. O2 is way to the left of He, and given both should range from 0 to 100%, it seems somehow "incorrect" to see the sliders not aligned when the O2 and He are the same. -S |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: New FREE Beta Deco Software for Linux/Mac/Windows - Need Testers Wow - People are getting demanding quick qu about ccr bailout![]() 1) can you use multiple gasses? ie 21/0 100/0 it doesnt seem to work at the moment. (guess you would need a switch depth/MOD too) ie 21/0 50m 100/0 6m 2) if this is possible it should warn you that your bailout pp02 is too high, currently it lets me put in 100/0 as my only bailout mix for a 30m dive 3) what is the bail-put pp02 ? is this a typo and is it the max bailout pp02? that would be used in point 2 above? or have i got this one all wrong? steve Last edited by ReikiMaster : 25th April 2008 at 17:01. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: New FREE Beta Deco Software for Linux/Mac/Windows - Need Testers Oh yea - I said this before, but I *really* would like to see the ability to set the last stop. 10fsw is NOT an option on many of my deco dives. -S |

O2 is way to the left of He, and given both should range from 0 to 100%, it seems somehow "incorrect" to see the sliders not aligned when the O2 and He are the same. That's because the slider for O2 is enforcing a minimum of 10% O2, while the He slider has no such limit. Slide the O2 all the way to the left and you'll see what I mean.-S By the way, typing it in is faster ![]() |

| Train Wrecked ;) Current Rebreather/s: | Re: New FREE Beta Deco Software for Linux/Mac/Windows - Need Testers quick qu about ccr bailout 1) Yes - Any number of gases can be entered for bailout1) can you use multiple gasses? ie 21/0 100/0 it doesnt seem to work at the moment. 2) if this is possible it should warn you that your bailout pp02 is too high, currently it lets me put in 100/0 as my only bailout mix for a 30m dive 3) what is the bail-put pp02 ? is this a typo and is it the max bailout pp02? that would be used in point 2 above? or have i got this one all wrong? steve 2) It does warn you right now - Look at the Max pO2 on the bailout tab - It will light up in RED. I deliberately didn't enforce a set of gases for entry because if I did, you wouldn't have a way to say "Ok, If I bail to a po2 of 2.0 in an emergency, and I can ascend quick enough to get it in check (less then 5 minutes let's say to get to a depth where it's under 1.6)", you might opt for that mix given the decompression advantages (time/mix trade offs). Really, I wanted this to be a dynamic tool to test some of those ideas too. To see the switch happening, look at the Profile Details tab BTW - If you are a CCR diver silly enough to only carry 100% as your bailout, this program isn't going to save you from yourself ![]() 3) Typo - Whoops - You are the first to notice ![]() Interestingly, the way I devised this was so that when entering a max bailout po2, the software could decide when to switch gases for you based on po2, with the assumption that it would lead to the quickest "get me the hell outta here" situation. HOWEVER, it has NO effect if you only enter 1 bailout gas since losing your rebreather leaves you one choice for bailout - The cylinder you are carrying. The software has no choice but to switch to it - Damn the torpedoes and the pO2 ![]() b. Last edited by brockbr : 25th April 2008 at 17:08. |

Overlays are >< that close to being done. As a matter of fact, the latest build shows this with the Dive Plan - 1 tab... More to come. b. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: New FREE Beta Deco Software for Linux/Mac/Windows - Need Testers It would be nice to see the entire profile including waypoints, instead of only the deco stops. When I punch in this: 180/25-18/45 70/5-50 To try to force a 5 minute stop when I switch gases, I get my list of deco stops with the 70 ft stop omitted. (1) 90ft - 2 (2) 80ft - 3 (3) 60ft - 1 (4) 50ft - 4 (5) 40ft - 5 (6) 30ft - 9 (7) 20ft - 11 (8) 10ft - 20 I think the output would be better if it included the 70 ft waypoint. I realize that this might cause a problem with the shallow waypoints in the deco stops like we were seeing before, so you'd have to add a bit of logic to avoid make it work. |
