Metric Option Now Available!

It's rough, but works. The main things to finish are things like "cfm" options, but the deco and planning should all work.

No worries breals, your thoughtfulness in your feedback shows.

I think I'm going to prototype a few more techniques for entering data and throw them out there an gauge the response. See what shakes out.

Cool. Let me know, I'd love to help where I can.

Re: New FREE Beta Deco Software for Linux/Mac/Windows - Need Testers

Hi,

I'm interested in helping to test.

In fact, I think I may have found a bug already...

When I use this for input for the dive:
60/60-32
90/60-32
60/60-32
with deco gas
20-100

I get a runtime of 252.

If I change the profile to spend more time shallower like this:
30/60-32
90/60-32
30/60-32
with deco gas
20-100

I expect to see a shorter runtime, but instead the runtime goes up to 636 minutes, with a 435 minute oxygen stop.

If you need more information to reproduce, please let me know.

Re: New FREE Beta Deco Software for Linux/Mac/Windows - Need Testers

I found another bug which might be related.
It manifests itself when you add a waypoint in the deco zone.

For example:

90/100-32 without any deco gas results in this deco:
(1) 30ft - 20
(2) 20ft - 19
(3) 10ft - 30

But if I add a waypoint at 10 feet like this:
90/100-32
10/10-32
I should see no difference in my deco, since they deco includes the waypoint. Instead, this is what I see:
(1) 30ft - 20
(2) 20ft - 19
(3) 10ft - 30
(4) 10ft - 130

If you need more information, please let me know.

Re: New FREE Beta Deco Software for Linux/Mac/Windows - Need Testers

Major Update

Based on great feedback, I've been able to hunt down a few problems within my implementation of the deco algorithm.

501 Foot Stops

This was caused by a couple of factors relating to how PO2 was effecting FN2, and the way I was calculating inert gas. This has been fixed.

Weird Shallow Stops (1 min stops)
This has been corrected by the same bug that effected the calculation of inert gas.

Multi-level Dives into Deco Zone
These should be fixed as well.

Please hammer on it some more - I am still finishing the metric stuff, but I have a day job, so I don't get to work on this much except in the evening.

Make sure your forcing a refresh to get the latest version - Go to mydecoplan.com and in IE it would be Ctrl-F5, on Safari its hold Shift and click refresh, on Firefox it's (all platforms) it's Shift+Click Refresh.

I just tried both of your profiles with the 30-60-30 resulting in a 188min RT.

Re: New FREE Beta Deco Software for Linux/Mac/Windows - Need Testers

Looking good...

I don't seem to be able to enter CCR bailout gases in Metric mode anymore though? Also while the sliders to adding waypoints is very modern and trendy I prefer to type then in- be nice if you could have either option IMVHO.

Lastly any chance of making the plan and bailout lines on the graph brighter, more different colours? I'm colour blind and they look similar to me which makes it hard.

Did you originally say this would be available offline as well?

So a bug that I am seeing is that you put in your deco gas but it's not showing the gas switches.
