| Closed Circuit Divers Aus Current Rebreather/s: | Decompression Stop Padding This is a spin off from the VR3 BUH or VPM thread I started earlier. I thought it'd be interesting to compare the different methods everyone is using when it comes to doing their deco. Please add a SHORT explanation if you'd like. Thanks, Lance

| Rebreather World Writer ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Decompression Stop Padding yo I dive mostly computer generated deco tables by V-Planner and controll with oc NiTek He and additional bottom timer. I feel very comfortable as well to use just two bottom timers and no deco computer at all. The CCR dive computer is for a long timne on top of my items I would like to buy but have not gotten around it yet. greetings Matt |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Decompression Stop Padding I dive with my Optima's Hammerhead Handsets (Buh) set to 25/85 and my VR3 (VPM-B/E) set to "0" Conservatism. On low to moderate durations dives, these setting are somewhat equivalent, with the VR3 requiring longer deco obligation the longer the dive. I always attempt to clear both computers before leaving the water, as I am usually not in a big hurry; however, on longer dives, I have sometimes had to violate the VR3, because the deco obligation it displays appears to be unreasonable compared to the Hammerhead's deco obligation, as well at that of other divers in the water with me at the time.

![]() | Re: Decompression Stop Padding Lancer, You've either too much time on your hands or you're figuring out just what makes the polls tick. Different strokes for different dives. 1. I always dive with a VR3 BUH and a bottom timer. The VR3/Meg uses the 4th cell option. 2. If the dive is fairly shallow, but may be long, I use the VR3 and carry 1.2 constant PO2 tables as a backup. I would pad the table deco a bit by running a higher PO2 during the deco, but I haven't had a failure. I like to add a minute or 3 on O2 to the shallow stop so that I don't need to worry too much about exertion or a couple of beers. 3. On a deep dive I cut a primary and a backup table using V-Planner. The primary assumes the dive went according to plan. The Backup assumes that the dive was a bit deeper and/or a bit longer than planned. If the VR3 is working, I follow the computer, not the tables, but am comfortable with the tables. I like to add a few minutes to the shallower stops as I'm in no hurry to get out of the water. 4. I have missed or shortened a deep stop or two over time, but never violate on the shallower stops. Paul |

Unless I feel bad in which case ill modify the profile. Back up is a Sunnto Vytec in gage mode and Ratio Deco with a few tweaks. ATB Mark

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Decompression Stop Padding Hi my two cents. Trimix dives: VPM tables and VR3. I follow the VPM in the deeper stops and then i clean the VR3 in the shallows. Slow ascent to surface. As back up botton timer and tables. Air dives: Just VR3. Best Mikel
