| Curmudgeon ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Damn company websites I've been checking out all the Rebreather company websites. Why don't any of them keep them updated. I keep wanting to see the new developments at steam machines, jetsam, and custom rebreathers, but the sites are always the same! ![]()

Either that, or as is probably often the case, they are still far from having developed a safe, finished product. (Too many customers; too much of a liability risk. Who knows?) There are solutions to those general problems as stipulated by DeepLife.co.uk. Though nobody seems to have everything right. Too bad. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Your point taken, Gadget. I have on numerous occasions, spoken and corresponded with some of these companies. They are off cause all working hard to get their baby ready to roll. The problem is most often with the appetizers, the coming soon, picture this... etc. If they give you a hint of whats up, tomorrow (which is always nice to know), they need to follow suit. Bring on the data, update the appetizer... When they do not, they just give you the feeling that either they don't care to elaborate their claims, or they simply lied to look as if they are up there; leading the field. Note. I have a lot of respect for the people that are working towards building the safe rebreather. The systems of the future. Not an easy task indeed. Very complicated task, to design a system that will appear to be simple, but with the requirement of safety, will be intensely complicated inside. Redundancy, robustness, ease of use, failsafe... They are after all building a one-person submarine in a shue-box. Last edited by 2stoned : 28th October 2005 at 09:38. |

You publish the *NEW* details when that is what you are selling not before.

Excellent point! They are out working on and manafacturing the things we all have "Rebreathers". You can always pick up the phone and call them i bet they will talk to you for hours about all there new ideas and plans. Another is that schedules for new products are hard to keep and even make in the first place. Probably for the same reason, too. So if you announce or publish prototype info/photos for example it becomes a two sided sword: Great that people get news and their intrest is aroused, but not so great if they get disapointed waiting for more or upset they have to wait. Aside from the more people contacting the manufacturer about info, schedules, prices etc, all of which increase the workload.
