The Shearwater HUD in Pea Soup...Zero viz!

The debate rages on, just what can't you do on an manual rebreather...dive in zero Viz? No way you say? As promised I simulated pea soup Viz to see if in fact one is able to monitor their po2. What better than to demonstrate this than with real pea soup! I'm trying to figure out how to work in the pogo stick in my next video...

None of this is recommended and individual experience may very!

Bon Appetite!

I calibrated with 90% o2 so that I could simulate a dive.

Re: The Shearwater HUD in Pea Soup...Zero viz!

Nicely done! - but..... I'd like to see how much separation between mask and HUD you could have before it became unreadable. Sure, if we stick a HUD to the outside of the glass of a mask we will be able to see it in wet cement, but it doesn't simulate whether you can see a HUD attached to a DSV, with maybe 5-10cm separation between mask and HUD, in bad vis.

Did you eat the soup after?
