So why do Americans take small, white, pigeon-like birds underwater with them? As in "I dove a wreck in 200ft". Weird...

With OC, when you lose orientation and need to know which way is up, you follow your bubbles....when CC, you just let go of the dove and it rockets up to the surface..

Depends on how long you've been underwater. If it's more than 10 minutes.....the only purpose attaching a line to its legs accomplishes is to give you a reference line to the surface....after 10 minutes.....well....don't you know a dove can't hold it's breath for more than 10 minutes?
