WOB is a useless indicator of whether a unit is good or not rather than bragging currency for those of a particular persuasion. Hello It, wob IS a usless indicator when a unit is sitting pretty on the store shelf, but when fighting a 3kt down current in Komodo at 75M having a unit with the lowest possible wob is very important to this diver. And it doesn't matter one bit whether you've done 1 dive or 1000 if you don't manage to get out of the water after every one of them. I'm guessing that you are aware that it's virtually impossible to determine the exact cause/sequence of events in of most CCR deaths. In otherwords, I'm not sure anybody knows exactly what has caused the majority of CCR deaths and given the hostile nature of the diving environmment, I would recomend that you give yourself every advantage you can when diving CCR. How's that for some internet advice? ![]() [quote=Inspired Trainer;171948] Joining as many forums as possible will give you access to the various problems associated with each unit. Forum advice is largely useless [quote] Well then, I guess a CCR forum is of some use afterall. [quote=Inspired Trainer;171948] Look at the brands of rebreathers coming up for sale and consider why this is the case. Deaths per hundred of users can be a useful stat...there are more subtle adverts...on the web... [quote] Now who's promoting what? If someone has more posts than dives then ignore them. This a very funny thing to say...but only if you're absolutely sure you know it all, which judging by your above comments on wob, you don't. hope that helps... ![]() Yes, you've been very helpful and thanks very much for your contribution to the forum. -Andy Last edited by silent running : 5th March 2008 at 18:04. |

Besides huge CLs, the massive canister forgives almost everything. From my point of view as a beginner this is critical point for a starter. |
