There are loads in Sabang, PG and if youre spending 3 weeks there, theres lots of hot filipino girls waiting to tend to your every need apres dive Andy, thanks for the reply, I was going with Action Divers in PG. As for the local girls I've heard there very handy with fettling with your bits at the end of a dive![]() I know Bruce Konefe (on this board) sometimes works in Philippines, but he is ANDI. Graham Blackmore might be able to help, I think he lives in Manila. You dont HAVE to do it in PG, theres other places to dive, such as Subic. A lot of American instructors spend time there so you might find someone running courses there. Another option is if you are changing planes somewhere, i.e. Singapore, then you could look for an instructor there and not bother turning up for the second flight. ANDI or IANTD would be fine (in fact having looked at the syllabus and spoken with Joe Radomski in the past the ANDI course would be preferable for me (personal choice please do not flame! ). As for PG, yes I really need to go there as I am meeting up with a mate and his missus who will be there at the same time. Thanks for the advice |

Just ask them direct to be sure, they are both on this board. Phi,You should be able to rent the Insp from a few sources around Sharm since there are quite a number of Insp instructors/divers there. I know Tekstreme has lots of tanks which most likely you will be using for your KISS course anyway. Thanks for the advice, hopefully DT can give me a steer, if he doesn't pick up on the thread I'll PM him. At the risk of hijacking my own thread , could I order an XL Decoweenie poloshirt and pick it up when I pass through the UAE in a week or so's time? Cheers |

Assume your instructor was going to be Simon Birtles... Have you tried Tech Asia next door? I have seen blokes come out of there wearing YBODs.

Hi Andy,Assume your instructor was going to be Simon Birtles... Have you tried Tech Asia next door? I have seen blokes come out of there wearing YBODs. I must admit knowing very little about them but I think the owner, Roscoe Thompson is big on the tekkie front. The mate of mine going also did his DM with them and said that they do have the tekkie side though this is a small part of what they do. I'll see if I can look up Tech Asia and see what's what. I know Simon works there but I don't know if it was him who had the hit. Cheers for the heads up |

Seeing as I have booked my flight ticket (and won't get a reimubursement) this leaves me in a tricky situation.I can either go pootling around at 40m for 3 weeks and not do my courses or I can cancel the holiday and do the course somewhere else (loosing my cost of airfare) but - Are there any IANTD instructors that could do the courses either in the Phillipnes that could do the course or would be willing to get employment for a couple of months out there (again, this would be up to the dive shop owner). BTW it has to be IANTD as I don't have enough hours to do my TDI MOD2 Can anyone help please?

Both are IANTD. I did my Inspiration courses with Frank and MK15.5 trimix with Paul. PM if you want their contact details - but expect they are listed here:-http://www.iantd.com/search/instructors_search.html Frank and Paul operate out of La Laguna beach club which is a 10 min walk down the beach from the slapper bars where the majority of the dive shops are located. They teach many different RBs, are very tech orientated. Paul has probably dived every Rebreather ever made. They are the main RB guys on PG IMO http://www.iantd.com/cgi-bin/instruc...fications=+831 http://www.iantd.com/cgi-bin/instruc...fications=+831 Drop Paul or Frank a line Im sure they can assist. http://www.llbcdiveresort.com/

I have had so many offers for assistance which has certainly opened my eyes as to how the world can be opened up to rebreather diving. I got the good news today that Paul from Hong Kong has been brought in to do my course, which is good news as Dr Mike has reccomended him. I understand that it was Frank that got the bend but I don't know how serious it was. However Roscoe did tell me that he would be out of action for a couple of months so hopefully it is nothing debilitating - my thoughts go out to him and all those who have been affected by injuries (or worse) in carrying out this passion of ours. Again thanks to you all for your help as I have not had the opportunity to do much diving over the last couple of years due to work commitments and was mortifed when I heard the news about Frank. I am a very happy teddy now I'll write a post on the course when I've finished and if there is anyone else out there who wants to do their Inspiration Normoxic and full Trimix courses from 8th November in the Phillipines with www.actiondivers.com let me know. As for the web site it is very recreationally based but there is loads more teckkie stuff that is not on the site. Cheers Nick |
