| Temporary Read only mode for site infractions Current Rebreather/s: | How do you dive on CCR?! Hi, The issue of diving 100% horizontally is generally recommended and also widely used in Tech diving. Recently, the issue came up while I was in contact with a Tech IT, and I was surprised by hearing that he wouldn't want to even tilt his head up to look to the surface if he was shooting his lift bag but instead he would remain diving horizontally and rotating his body to one side so he would face the surface in order to look upward. After that, I got a bit curious about you guys diving. Is this a widely used positioning technique? *I have been reviewing IANTD Instructor Manual regarding dive positioning but I couldn't find any information regarding its requirement nor its recommendation. Please choose the approximate angle of your positioning while diving your CCR. Best Regards. Wael Last edited by Brainx3 : 17th February 2008 at 10:23. Reason: wrong number |

Hi, It would actually be great if there are some Tech instructors that would share their opinions about this, as it would be also interesting to know how do other instructors teach. Best Regards. About the only thing I don't do, position wise, on my Rebreather is go through vertical holes heads down. While I believe good trim is essential to being efficient, I don't think shooting for a particular number of, or lack of, degrees is even in my mind while diving. Most divers think they are horizontal when they really aren't; proven by watching video or viewing pictures of the dive. As for it being important on a Rebreather, I don't see much of an issue. As long as you are aware of the problems associated with water exiting the CL's and into the sorb, I don't see the need to be anal about it. Not repositioning to accomplish tasks properly seems stupid.
