| S21 M.I.B. ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Handset cable routing Hi all, I'm just interested in how you guys actually route your handset cable in order to avoid a big loop on the side. I saw Kiss and Megalodon divers simply wrapping the cable twice around their forearm, and Evolution divers using a piece of bungie around their arm to keep the cable close to their body. Any other idea to avoid these bloody cables to be caught in the first piece of wreck available??? ![]() Cheers

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Solution #1 Planning ahead is the key! When possible, I simply order my units with the correct length of cable. Same thing for canister lights as well. Solution #2 I shove the excess cable into the unit case (if applicable) and zip tie the first exposed part of the cable to the case opening where it comes out. Solution #3 When possible (i.e. original cable for Classic KISS), I simply trim the cable to length. Solution #4 I route the excess cable around the breathing hose, or their base when they come out from the case (i.e. Evolution).

I experimented with a variation of the 'ford-flow' routing (passing the handset down through the wing) which kept the handset wiring out of the way but the cable wasn't long enough for full arm extension. If I ever switch to Apecs 3 electronics, I will ask for longer cables as that clearly keeps the big loop of wire out of the way. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Mine gets routed over the shoulder and through the bungee that holds down the inflator hose. No extra kit, tidy route and still full flexibility of movement. /Z

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | whilst on the topic of handsets, does anybody know if you can order the inspo vision elecs with the handset rigged for use on the right side arm? i am due to take del of a new unit in Nov/Dec and would prefer the wrist display on the right, so i can keep my VR3 on the left wrist and prob use it with a 4th cell. | Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | IIRC you can have the VR3 display the data upside down, so even if you hook it up to a cable you can wear it on your right arm.
