![]() | popular re breather in Europe. Hello All; First of all, happy new years to all of you. I just re located to Spain and I am entertaining the idea of buying a re breather. I am concerned about spare parts and availability in Spain. What re breather are popular in Europe besides the inspo/evo? To be in the USA I would buy either an optima or a meg, a kiss is not out of the question but here I am not sure. Thanks; Steve |

Hi,What re breather are popular in Europe besides the inspo/evo? To be in the USA I would buy either an optima or a meg, a kiss is not out of the question but here I am not sure. You dont write any designcriterias, but there are several Rebreather's beside APDs that are produced in Europe: rEvo - mCCR+eCCR, BMCL, Extremely simple, OffTheSelf parts., "Cheap", lowprofile, sturdy, etc. I can recommend it. Ouroboros - eCCR, BMCL, Big, exspensive, extended range type. Sentinel - eCCR, BMCL, Not small, priced as inspo i think. Not directly available yet. Both APD-Inspo, APD-Evo, Meg, Boris, Sentinel are eCCR where factory-service can mean shipping the unit to the maker/dealer for anual service. And they are generally considered more exspensive then their counterpart mCCRs. Good luck in your quest - take a look in the rEvo forum. Nicolai

Its not a real rebreather unless it has its own forum on Rebreather World ![]() .... But then I forgot to mention the CisPos Mark VI, wich again is a eCCR for limited diving (No deco strictly) and has not hit the market yet. Nicolai There is offcourse also the SCRs: Submatrix, Dolphin and Ray, but they probaly do not have your interest.

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: popular re breather in Europe. He asked for popular, not available. ![]() The number one no doubt are the AP units. The Dräger had a good run, and a boost a few years back due to NRC heavily promoting them in Germany, as well as Austria and Switzerland. These days though support for most part seems to come from W+S Watersafety and TecMe rather than Dräger or Aqualung. The Jetsam Classic Kiss has been quite popular, too, Kim Smith told me she's been selling more of them to Europe than in North America. The rEvo as mentioned has developed quite a following very quickly and is worth a close look. There have been quite a few Megs sold to Europe, too, and support seems to be okay. IIRC, it's out of Norway. Everything else seems local and/or limited. pSCRs have been popular with European cavers, and you'll find the odd MK series, Cis-Lunar, PRISM etc in Europe. The Ouroboros has sold reasonably well given the rather steep price tag, so the upcoming Sentinel (March 2008) should do better. Prices are between 4500 and 5400 GBP. Jordi Mateo is a member here, based in Spain, and a good person to contact. |

I was going to post this! Jetsam's support and customer service is speedy and superb. Whereas AP can be a bit slow at times. Janos

Janos Same for CCrb Technologies, makers of Ouroboros and Sentinel. If you have the possibility try to go to the Boot - Düsseldorf in January. You could find there the answer. Cheers Nad

![]() | Re: popular re breather in Europe. Thank you for this info, it helps. For what I read, kiss, revo, megs, and maybe ouroboros, even though the last one is too advanced (pricey) for the diving I am planning to do. Service for the revo and kiss has been established to be good. My only concern with revo is that it is a relatively new unit but I must admit that it looks fantastic. Stefan, I know Jordi, he is a fan of the classic kiss but I wanted to have more opinions since he has not dived with revo or megs. I don't know If I am foolishly drawn to the megs but in the USA they have an incredible reputation for sturdy units. Any idea how the service of these units is in Europe? Thanks; Steve |
