Modifications to increase maximum depth

Hi guys,

I currently dive Inspiration Vision and I would like to be able to reach 200 meters to take some photos of a wreck, but as we all know that the first problem will come up will be with imploding the buzzer at about 170 meters. Any other problems that might happen with the machine itself if going deeper?

I would really appreciate suggestions, modification tips and ideas about how can extend the depth to 200 meters without any electronical or mechanical problems.

Best Regards. Wael

Well,

I don't think that's really necessary since the bottom time will only be for a couple of minutes. Besides, Subs aren't cheap to get.

ROV...

You could even buy one (complete) for the price of your Vision...

Re: Modifications to increase maximum depth

Hi,

Well, still for one deep dive it's not really worth it. But maybe I will rent a ROV for the task if I found out that it's too risky on the Rebreather. Anyway, I sent APD an email regarding that so I will get something next week hopefully. But if you guys have any good modification tips and ideas then please feel free to share.

Well, still can afford an Rebreather but going to Subs would be another dramatic financial step.

Re: Modifications to increase maximum depth

Get an MK 15 series rebreather

Seriously, there is no way that I would modify an Inspiration to dive to 200 meters. Even when fixing the buzzer and any other mechanical aspect of the unit, the scrubber itself is simply too small: even if you were to limit your bottom time to 5 minutes - you have to ask whether the dive is worth it if you stay so short - you are still talking about roughly 18 minutes below 100 meters plus the time of any deep stops below 100 meters (3 minutes to desent from 100 to 200, 5 minutes at the bottom and 10 minutes to ascent to 100 again), and there is no telling in advance how the scrubber will behave during that time and at such depts.

Rgs,

Re: Modifications to increase maximum depth

Hi,

Well, I know the scrubber might be a bit smaller than other RBs but I'm hoping that someone will come up with some bigger modified version in the future. I think it shouldn't be a problem or expensive, the chinese can almost dubplicate anything
