When I was taking my rEvo class with Paul, he mentioned that for a level of SMUS cert you must freedive to the bottom of the pool and clear you mask THREE times, one breath. The classic beginner OW diver blow a lung full though the nose is wastful and unelegant. That and mask fit--food for though...
