![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 130's as a dil bank.... Looking at making the transition, is there any practical value in retaining a set of 130's as a diluent bank...? Started running through the transfill calculations, and it appears using 3L bottles, you might only get 3-4 fills before the supply drops into the 2200psi range. |

Lasts a long time, Plus if you don't run the booster with a compresor, you can use it to run the booster and supply gas. without a booster, you can close the isolater valve and have a 2 bottle cascade.

Looking at making the transition, is there any practical value in retaining a set of 130's as a diluent bank...? I use a 15l (no idea what that is in cu ft :-( for dil. I did the same calculations as you and wondered whether it would be worth using as a sort of bank. Tried it anyway and the upshot is yes. What I didn't think about, cos I'm new at this game, is that you don't drain your cylinders like you did on OC (or at least you won't once you've got a bit of experience).Started running through the transfill calculations, and it appears using 3L bottles, you might only get 3-4 fills before the supply drops into the 2200psi range. I used my 15 filled with 21/35 last week in Scapa. Started with 210 bar. I never needed to top my dil bottle up from less than 140 bar, so after 4 tops, I was still at 160 bar or so. I'd have been happy to carry on and take it down to 120 or 130 bar, which would have given me another 4 or 5 tops, as I was only using 30-50 bar on each dive. HTH, Phil

I was able to borrow a set of HP 120's when I was in San Diego last month, those rEvo divers out there are pretty nice guys... any way several l fills, and still returned the set with mucho gas left! thanks eric! hoppy |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: 130's as a dil bank.... I do this normally Since I use TX 10/50 most of the time as a diluent I buy a 315 cuft bank helium cylinder, normally filled to around 2400 psi. transfill 2 LP 121's to 1500 psi HE, top off to 3000 with air making 10/50 in cylinders. This normally drops the large 315 cuft bank to around 1200 psi. Then I take the large HE bank cylinder and top it off to double the HE pressure with air to make a large bank of 10/50. I use a couple 80's to drive my baby booster if I need to bump up the pressures in my CCR dil.
