Printing Checklists and Tables

Hi all

I suppose Stuart's 7 steps would classify me as a "Seeker" since I have booked my MOD1
and is currently spending most of my spare time reading and pondering rebreathers.

I seem to go through phases;
- the initial euphoric phase, after my introduction dive on a Vision Inspiration
- the theoretical phase, reading the manuals over and over
- the technical phase, developing my simulator for the Vision: http://www.rebreatherworld.com/surfa...ion#post130806

Now I seem to have entered a more morbid phase, partly spurred by the rebreather deaths list, compiled by Alex and his team.
Taking a big bow in respect and appreciation

What really stuck with me, is the fact that so many accidents are caused by the simplest mistakes.
Even the Sith Lords have one or more tales that really makes my hair stand on end.
Thank you all so much for s(h/c)aring

Since it's going to take eons until my level of experience will make me immortal,
I need some other tools for avoiding these "exciting" dives.
(Apart from doing buddy checks with my wife, off course)

Slowly approaching the topic

Last night I copied the checklists from the Evo manual, to print them on a water proof material,
so I can keep them on/with me when I dive.
I have done similar prints, that I have lamminated,
but what I really want, is to print them on a hard plastic board, same as the IANTD/DSAT tables.

I have been shopping around print shops in Oslo/Norway, but without any luck.

Alternatively, I might print them on credit/security cards.
Most large companies print their own and I can bribe someone to make them for me
- but the print will be really small.

So (now, on topic), have any of you found a print shop that do DSAT table print jobs?

Why not print them on paper and laminate them? Cheap and accessible and you can throw them away when they get worn out or start to leak. That's what most people seem to do.

Alternatively, there is waterproof laser paper around. I've got some and it's great, but pretty expensive. I printed some Buhlmann tables onto it about 6 or 7 years ago and they are still legible now.

Cheers,

Hi Phil

Yeah, I know I'm not making things easy for myself - but that would be no fun

I am also looking for waterproof laser paper for another use.
Could you please post the brand and specification on the waterproof paper?

I will try to remember to check tonight.

Correction: I remembered where I found out about it and checked the archives (many thanks Gordon Henderson for Scuba-UK). WeatherWriter, waterproof writing boards, pens and paper.

Cheers,

For my work on the field i use this paper:

Home

Usually i take notes with a pencil and they survived heavy rains.

They have also sheet for laser copier, but i didn't tried them until now.

Re: Printing Checklists and Tables

iGage Mapping Corporation makes waterproof paper that can be run through a laser printer.

It is expensive but as mentioned above lasts a loooong time, even when living in my drysuit pocket....

Weatherproof Paper

Dive safe and good luck on your quest,

Celia
