Re: Diving depth that you routinely do...

I agree this poll would be better if you could select multiple depths and set an average number of dives for each depth.

I have been involved in a special project for the past few months that has me diving in the 330'-430' range each week. Mostly all of my dives for the past 6 months have been beyond 250' but soon the weather and sea conditions will force us to do shallower dives. Also, this is not my normal diving practice. Although most of my dives require mandatory decompression, I often dive at recreational depths and shallow tech depths.

To break it down I would say this year I have done:
25% 90'-140'
20% 140'-200'
20% 200'-250'
35% 250'-350'+

Hope this gives you some idea.

Dave

Re: Diving depth that you routinely do...

I put 60-70 which represents my target dives but to be more specific.

Of the last 21 dives I have managed in the UK high seasion so far (May-today)

9 over 60m avg 65 deepest 71m
4 Over 50m
4 over 40
4 over 30m

In total a further 11 X 60m+ dives were blown out or swaped for shalow dives since May. I have four more 60m+dives booked this year.

Between November and May I try to stick above 60 to keep the deco short as the water temp drops.

Re: Diving depth that you routinely do...

My average with only 23 dives is 57.9047 feet. This number will increase as I get more experience and training (limited to 130' right now )

Re: Diving depth that you routinely do...

My only good dive site demands 45-50m depths so I chose 50m.

Re: Diving depth that you routinely do...

Anyone remember this poll?

Deepest dive you've done

Fascinating reading back through it. Interesting to read the roll call of names, some of whom don't post now, and some of whom aren't with us any more.

Stuart, you never did say what it was for, but I thought it was fun anyway.

Re: Diving depth that you routinely do...

I'm on an all you can eat dive pass at the moment, which is great for getting in the hours with dives typically between 18m and 28m, with the odd 30-35m dive. Hence I put 20-30m. A lot of the more interesting sites that I'm qual'd to dive on the Rebreather are 30m-41m and I do dive them occasionally, but those generally cost me real money

Re: Diving depth that you routinely do...

Good question Phi, as I understand it. You are asking about the average maximum depth, right?

My dives are getting a bit deeper on average due to tmix training, but most are still on air dil, but deepish due to the benefits of having a nitrox mixing machine on my back. I love being able to wrack up 20-30 minutes of deco and working most of it off during a nice, slow muti-level dive...
