Re: Post your f_cked up Rebreather pics here :D

Wish I had a camera at the time but I pulled a real doozy this summer with my Meg. I hopped off the back of the boat and snagged the primary cable on the ladder. I knew I did something but didn't realize what. Apparently it made one hell of a noise on the boat. Peering through my mask I was looking at the primary and wondering why it wasn't working when the captain handed me the end of the cable and asked "is this suppose to be plugged in somewhere?". I'm sure he was being sarcastic!

Hopped back on the boat and duct taped my wrist seal (whoops). Did a quick check of the unit and wrapped the cable behind the wing. Attached the secondary to my wrist and got back in (hey, we can't all be that bright).

On the upside I still got in 10 minutes on SS Michigan in 270 ffw. Meg worked great and the head didn't flood.

After the incident I was wondering if having a bullet proof cable was really that helpful but it ISC took care of it (for a small fee of course). Now the cable gets wrapped on the inside of my arm everytime.

Hello Jeff, that's why I use thin zip ties to route my 2dry cable along the BP and down to the waist to take up as much slack as I can. That way, if I catch the short length of cable that still needs to be free on something, the thin zip tie snaps, not the cable. Worked well, so far... -Andy

Re: Post your f_cked up Rebreather pics here :D

900mins? A few people have been there.

Theres someone about to atempt (foolishly IMO) to do a 300m 'record' bounce dive on a twin Rebreather. I guess (assuming he survives) that will be of the order of 900mins duration...just wish he wouldnt do it - who gives a crap - please go home and hug your son my friend its just not safe. Such momentary fame is just not worth the risk! - what is?

sorry for off topic

Can feel your pain - as I can poor Kevins

When my suppliers let me down it can make me look like an ass with my customers - often/usually unfairly

As anyone in the mnf industry will say your suppliers can make or break you!

Bit of corrosion wont kill yah Did you get free replacement?

Another HH, This was fixed very quickly and the service was better than some local suppliers as was the speed of delivery across the pond. Well done KJ.
