| Re: Post your f_cked up Rebreather pics here :D Sooooo i take it you cant park a truck on that bit then Is it me or should something your very likley to drop (like the scrubber for example) be a tad less brittle? I noticed this too on the Vision when one of the lads on the boat knocked over the scrubber housing and bent the pins that hold the head on. Mmmmmm great design I thaught. ATB Mark The choice of an acrylic material has the benefit of being see through so that you can examine the scrubber and acrylic is not a good conductor of heat, but the down side is that acrylic had very little impact resistance..

There are impact modified grades of acrylic, although I don't know of anybody extruding tubing using them. The modifiers might effect clarity, and that would be a stopper for most tube / pipe producers. The impact modified acrylics are pretty tough, at least sheet and molding grades I've played with. Tobin

Tobin Sheets are pretty common but I have never seen impact resistent tubes.. extruded acrylic is a bit more impact resistant than cast, but the larger diameters are usually cast..

ATB Mark[/quote] with the help of mark and nigel the pin was straighten back up, and has not been a problem since it was restraighten ( ie has not let water into scrubber) but i dont know way these pin's are not user replaceable. i was told by one other lad on trip that if it could not be straighten, i would have to replace the whole scrubber housing, a bit o.t.t for such a small part. in honesty i have not asked if they are replaceable, i will phone them, and asked if they are user replaceable, and will see what they say safe diving dave |

Just use whatever material SMI use for their scrubber buckets. Clear, and mine survived being kicked across the yard when it was HUD disco time.Mike
