While having lunch with a client he handed me a large bag of a white powdery substance. Neither of us realized that two Texas State Troopers had seen him hand me the bag and thought it was something else. Raw white cut fiberglass may look like cocaine…! That was a long day… Apparently, it's even worse when you try to blow it up yer nose. Not speaking form experience mind you.......................... ![]() |

"make something idiot proof and they just go and invent a better quality of idiot" I figure we haven't heard from Rebreather World sponsors because they don't want to embarrass their customers. So I will poke fun of me.![]() I sent in my Hammerhead and electronics pod to Kevin at Juergensen Marine to get a new pod as water had crept into the pod from the non-water-blocked solenoid wire. He replaced my old pod with a spiffy new one with a Lumberg connector for the solenoid wire. He also noticed that the transducer/lens was broken on my handset, so replaced that and upgraded the firmware for good measure. Totally packed schedule so right before my first dive on a California technical charter I open the UPS package from Juergensen and install the Hammerhead. Can't input a mix because it is asking for an unlock code. WTF? I dug through the box thinking that I missed the sheet of paper with the codes. Kevin had taped the handset unlock codes right on the front of my handset so that even idiots could not miss them. I had just achieved idiot qualification.

Just trying to help a guy out. Especially one who did the following to his original pod: P1010010.jpgP1010011.jpgP1010012.jpgP1010013.jpg As you can see, I didn't have much of a choice in replacing it... ![]() But Kent has returned the favor, with lots of VERY valuable information about underwater sealing, etc, from his history working with ROV's. So, we have a "mutual admiration society" going on. ![]() I love those kinds of relationships. The day when I can't learn something about this business, it'll stop being fun. But I'll skip having Kent work on any of MY pods.... ![]() Kevin. |

Sitting in a 7 foot RIB fishing in what is considered to be the most dangerous waterway in north america. BUY A REAL BOAT! The sillest one I saw recently was two guys a couple miles off shore in a 14 foot riveted hull aluminum skiff in 6-8 foot swells, no lifejackets, no radio, no gps. Just pure luck I saw them when we both crested at the same time. this other guy ran his boat into a daymark, three phone pole sized steel pilings sticking up 10 feet above the water, getting that nice goosegg on his head, dislocated his collarbone and then insisted he did not want EMS
