I walk in with some parts, need to make this to that, I saw these parts in your catalog... local Swagelok distro; "that will work, but what about this, that, we could try this...." ah, parts work and their nearly indestructable... all the assembly done in the comfort of my own home; dog staring at me like I am some crazed lunny! hoppyinca |

So far so good. Or.... you could have gotten hardware that worked fine to begin with and didn't ever need fixin'....... I'm always amused by people who tell me great stories about how their stuff is put right... why did it need repair? Bad design to begin with? Bad quality control? There's *some* reason it needs fixing. We all see certain trends... if we pay attention. Certain names come to the forefront when repairs are discussed. Some have their own *forums*. Ever wonder *why* people are talking lots about getting their stuff fixed? It's not because it's great stuff to begin with..... the great stuff just works and *nobody* talks about it's fixes. I'm more impressed by hardware where the answer is "I've got no clue about their customer service.... it worked out of the box and I never needed to fix it!". Not for nothing.... avoid items that have their own forums where people discuss the fixes to issues. Spend your money with a manufacturer who puts the right stuff out, tested, that works out of the box. Stay away from the "fixer-uppers". Oh, the stories I could tell about experiences with manufacturers (several not one).... but will not. Why disturb the karma? Getting spares is a better test... I wanted an extra bracket for my rEvo... had it the next day (in the USA from Belgium). Needed a pod for my Mark-15... had it in three days from Colkan (in the USA from Australia) and have never needed to talk to them since. Wanted a software update for my VR-3: Was to the UK, fixed, and back in 7 days. Golem stuff comes next day, and always works. Ditto Oxycheq. Ditto Tech Diving Limited. SUPER stuff from Kent Tooling. Just beyond belief. Subsea Systems displays = best on the market. Spares from Jetsam? Right on schedule with a smile..... Narked@90? 100% good stuff. Northeast Scuba: Has every fitting known to man. Others? Well...... Dave . Last edited by Dave Sutton : 9th September 2007 at 18:34. |
