inert gas ratios

been thinking about inboard diluent and off board bailout, and thinking which set of inboard diluent/ off board bailouts go together to minimise changes in inert gas ratios. My numpty question is do people preserve the inert gas ratios in ALL the bail out mixes they use or just bottom bail out. I realise as one switches from trimix to nitrox / oxygen that its not possible to preserve the He/N2 ratios, but it IS possible to mimimise N2 spikes. Opinios appreciated. P.S. Are there some articles on the finer points of this I've missed?
