Re: Which Helium Analyser to Buy

I just realised that I never did update this thread

I have been using the Divesoft unit for just on 10 months and am very happy with it. I only use the analysis features but have found it very quick and accurate when compared to other units.

Cheers,

Ben.

Re: Which Helium Analyser to Buy

I have had 2 of the divesoft units and have not found either one of them accurate on the O2 content, I have been comparing them with the analox trimix unit and the He is spot on, and the Alpha 1, but the O2 is only accurate at the calibration points, drifting higher (by up to 2%)than the other two above 21%, and lower belwo 21%.

I have just been sent a new cell from the manufacturer but it still reads the same, will contact them again on Monday.

It has also got a very hefty drain on the battery, a weeks analysing will use 2/3 batteries.

The analox unit has performed accuratley for the past 4 years, but I liked the other functions of the divesoft unit.

Cheers

Phil

Interesting. I'll leave the old Vandergraph in the toolbox for now rather than pensioning it off.

Up to now the Divesoft has confirmed my blends were on target and getting the answer I expected has not caused me to think to doubt it.

Re: Which Helium Analyser to Buy

I have tried contacting every US Analox dealer I can find and a few have said they might be able to get the oxygen sensor. It will cost about double the usual cost of an oxygen sensor. I will try the number below as well. I tried a recommended replacement sensor from Maxtec but it did not fit (threads were too big) and it did not function when plugged in, different voltage I suppose. I like the unit, it has worked perfectly, but would not buy another one due to the difficulty of getting replacement sensors and the high cost of sensors in the US.

Looks like a standard type of O-2 Sensor, but they recommend buying the He & O2 sensors directly from them. Pretty pricey though.

I imagine if you contact the US office (714-891-4478) they might be able to hook you up somehow.... Or did you already try that?

They do some consumer shows around the country and I suspect if you give them enough lead time they could bring the cells with them.

I picked up my unit at BTS in NJ this year.... Very happy with it so far.
