![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: How do you sling your tanks and why? Andre, you should probably describe *how* you sling them, which is definately a non-standard way (As Phi says, "Nose Clip"). I watched you swim to the downline on the Doria with your gas and it looked great. Easy to drop bottles on the wreck and at the equipment line. For open-ocean use that seems the trick. Dave Easy; I sling my deep bailout cylinder, which is plumbed into my BOV through an APV QC, using the "conventional" method. If using a second cylinder, I then "nose clip" it to my left waist D ring. If carrying three cylinders, I'll clip two in the conventional manner and nose clip the third one. Note that this latest means of carrying three cylinders is a fairly recent one for me and I'm still experimenting with this. Beforehand, when dealing with three bailouts, I used to conventionally mount one and clip the other two on the waist D ring with the use of a short leash. I did some longish dives on the Jodrey last week end and I was quite happy with my latest set-up. It leaves me with my right side free which makes it easy to fumble through reels, strobe, etc., not to mention scootering which I do regularly.Andre Last edited by gathan : 7th August 2007 at 15:49. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: How do you sling your tanks and why? When i started dive with stage tanks all tekki`s said: ..put all tanks on the left side.. I do it. Oh my good. 2-3 ali 80 are ok. 4 tanks on one side...forget it. As i done the first dive´s with ccr i change a little bit. I use inflator hoses on all stage regs and so i carry a 7L ali with O2 on the right side and 2-3 ali 80´s with the various gases on the left side. I use an ali canister for my HLX Hand lamp on the right side on the waist belt, so the trim is o.k. Cheers Markku ![]() |

| God save the Queen Current Rebreather/s: | Re: How do you sling your tanks and why? Have a read of Prof. Stanley Coren's book 'The Left-Hander Syndrome Are you starting a Left-Handed Club. If so I am in.Amazon.com: The Left-Hander Syndrome: The Causes and Consequences of Left-Handedness: Books: Stanley Coren There is no evidence that left-handers are cack-handed, but left-handers can look that way in certain situations: just try, as a left-hander, sitting on a packed bench using chopsticks, with a right-hander doing the same on your left-hand side: he's always going to blame you when he drops his sushi on his winkle. Only 8-15% of the population are left-handed, but they punch above their weight because they are useful in sports and they reportedly have a significantly higher percentage of people with above-average IQ. My point, though, is not to accept anyone who says there's only one way of doing things. Being left-handed gives me half an excuse to flip them the birdie, but I'd probably do that to them anyway out of bloody-mindedness.

Also, would be cool to see pictures of the different ways people do this... jon o |
