New Fancy Weight Harness Things

I have seen a few of the newer weightbelt harness type things like the Seeman Sub Comfort West Vest.
HTML Code:

Or maybe the DUI weight and trim

Not the webbing ones, but the ones that are more like a transpac. I am sure I have seen them with eyelets to use with a twinset, and was wondering if it would be an option to use on my sport kiss in place of a backplate and harness? Has anyone tried this?

Re: New Fancy Weight Harness Things

It's not a harness. they are not made (read back section not sturdy enough) to hold the weight of the breather and keep it from swinging/rocking on your back. At least the DUIs won't work. I don't know about this particular one. Well maybe if you add a BP in the inside? A DR Transpac or equivalent + weight pockets would do the same. Or you could get one of these if weight is the goal: Au-Vieux-Campeur - Produits or
Au-Vieux-Campeur - Produits
But it's 7kg non adjustable.
By the way, off topic: I see Seemann Sub has been bought over by Johnson outdoors (scubapro-Uwatec parent company). Tha may lead to better products out there.
Best
Philippe

The Submatix Harness is top of the line. Not only for rebreather diving. We (gf and me) had it in Sibiria on Baikal, diving dry, with 15l bottles. With 14 kg, you did not notice the weight. Good for your back.

Retail price is about 350 Euro.

gereets,
Matthias
