The straps held and it wouldn't inflate. Cheers, Stuart Brent. p.s. Ooops, sorry I Just remembered, he actually said 'tight fisted' ![]()

If the bottle is detachable, i have seen people drop the cylinder, plus just the extra maintenance also having one more item to attach to oneself. If using a regulator free flowing as mention in another reply, o rings, etc. Personally I do not have enough body real estate to put anymore gear on. My wing deflator does the job and there is no additional maintenance required. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Deployment of SMB How do you skin a cat? ![]() I have a Buddy DSMBi which is easy to deploy. I also have a tiny 1m SMB as a backup, which takes less than a breath to deploy (switch the KISS BOV to OC, one breathe into the SMB, switch back and let the ADV refill the loop) is a "pile of shite" in the sea according to my favourite skipper so I'll be getting rid of that soon.0 I don't like using my bailout bottles for filling DSMBs as it's a pain in the arse to keep topping them up. Hence it's going to be DSMBi for main for me and CO2 blob for backup. Janos PS - I've set of a DSMBi while rolled up and it just goes pffff and doesn't unroll at all. PPS - I think it was Woz who used to have a Buddy inflation bottle on his BC until it got knocked by accident and pinned him to the ceiling of the Stanegarth. I think he's since removed it.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Deployment of SMB I use the mini bottle DSMB for primary and a yellow CO2 fDSMB or emergency. Also carry a second orange one too. What I would REALLY like as a yellow secondary would be CO2 inflated with a baffle at the bottom to allow it to be inflated manually if the CO2 cartridge is a dud (when it otherwise becomes as useful as tits on a bull). Not found one of these yet...anyone seen one? Otherwise looking at making one myself using a spare CO2 initiator. Steve |
