Not got a bullnose valve on the bottle.
Has an external thread. Supplier (Air Products ) said has to have a regulator fitted to the cylinder and connect to this. But they can't be sure it will take a bullnose connection.

Anyone else have this problem?

Sounds like the fitting for Norweigan gas supply bottles...though not sure its a 300 bar fitting.

May be worth calling Sub-Aqua Products as they supply a lot of different adaptors for gas bottles and have proved to be very helpful.

Have you tried if a female DIN adapter fits - e.g. a Reg cap? Should give you an idea of type of thread.

I have seen such external threads on CO2 tanks in the UK. You can get adapters for those to Bullnose from welding supply shops in brass.

Good Luck

Re: J size (50L) 300 bar Helium problems

These are the things I am on about... Look likely?

All about £20 and cross back to 1/4" BSP... The size of the internal seal part is about the same as a conventional bullnose seal for a UK cylinder.

Do you actually have the cylinder with you, a photo would clarify it, but http://http://www.bocmedical.co.uk/product_information/Cylinder_data_chart.pdf

would imply that there is simply some confusion regarding the gender of the fitting, perhaps SAP are differnt.
