Clean The Loop & Lungs

How often do you disinfect and clean your loop and lungs? I learned to do a through cleaning after each day of diving and have always done this. But if you were diving say 3 days back to back would you go through the effort to fully disinfect your loop and CLs each day with a special cleaning agent like Buddy Clean or would you just rinse with fresh water and let dry. Or, would you consider letting it sit overnight until the next AM without cleaning or rinsing. I'm talking about dives in saltwater.

Thanks for any input.

Re: Clean The Loop & Lungs

For 2 days diving I dont touch my kit - up to a week I wash it out with fresh water every couple of days - 2 weeks I would disinfect every 5 or so.

Works for me.

Re: Clean The Loop & Lungs

Depends on what is available. 2 day trips with limited water on the boat I don't fool with it. Resort in Caribe like Cobalt Coast/Divetech then every day. They have hoses and Relyon sitting around for you. Saw plenty of people go a week w/o disinfecting/cleaning. However I do a real good thorough clean when I get home and before a major trip. No lung infections yet.

Re: Clean The Loop & Lungs

On trips with multiple diving days, I rinse out the loop after each day, leaving the head open to air out. I disinfect when I get home/after the last day of diving. If I am only diving for a day with days of breaks before the next dive, I disinfect after the day is over (or the next day if I am feeling too tired to get around to it).
