[/list]No cant see this 6000 estimate of APD units, it’s way too high. Half it to 3000 units be close to about right. If 6000 you would expect Ebay to be awash with them for real, (and since when did the old drogon network members list get bigger?). No reason to assume the drift of non Rebreather World members in one make (ADP) against all RBW members to be so substantially greater than in any other make or model.

What I would suggest is each member update and list there current in hand make/s and model/s (not serial number) bit like a stock take, IMHO the numbers are less.
Are you sure of those figures? Other sources have suggested APD is up to a total of nearer 10k units sold!

Steve.
Yes it's less than you think. Here’s one clue, speak to the OEM trade that supply into the diving industry about what is sold in the UK diving market. For example Lord Urethane will give you an idea of the unsupported urethane film. Gunter Seeman of Seeman Sub before he sold to Scubapro used to supply the 1st stage. Continental supply the 1TE conti hose. etc .etc. break it down. Ok you will need the starting point and a finish but it will give you a good idea. If thats too tough speak to an insider.

Look the CCR market is tiny in comparison to say the general scuba market for example only last week a “fitting supplier” was in my office he just received an order for 30,000 components for a IP hose (not AP Valves, but the name and number withheld to protect the innocent) but it gives you the idea the annual uses of in this case scuba regulators, (for your reference some years ago I was the marketing manager for the US Divers now Aqualung equipment in Europe,)

Re: Numbers of Different Units owned by Rebreather World members - The Update

It would be nice indeed to see what Rebreather's are out there now...

If I try doing it myself I have e.g. 3348 Inspiration Classic owners. That's so much higher than the last count that I suspect the script filters on more....

Re: Numbers of Different Units owned by Rebreather World members - The Update

The numbers dont mean all that much was does count it shows a good increase of people buying and diving on rebreathers. Next thing you know the vision or kiss will come out with a pink case for the ladies or the Meg or optima's will have flowers down the sides just for the woman. And so on. Maybe you could run a poll on how many female divers on CCR'S and what there are diving and how long ago they may have started diving on rebreathers.
