![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Where to buy a strap on? :D Mark: many of the options mentioned will work fine... glueing DS pockets to your wetsuit I've found the most practical; however, I have also worn boardshorts over the top of a 3mm... worked fine and presented a stylish accent to boot. Also a good stop-gap when you have no time to prepare a more permenant solution. Good diving. |

X shorts are not made by Andrew anymore. Spoke to him at DEMA last year and he is focusing on his scooter now. You have to dig quite deep for a pair . We both have these shorts and they work great!!

They would have to be posted from Hong Kong but would be cheap (US30 a pair).PM if anybody is interested. Graham |

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Where to buy a strap on? :D Deep Outdoors sells 2 different models (just looked on their website) .. that attach to your belt, then strap around your leg. The tradesman and the explorer. I've used the larger of the two (couldnt tell which was which by photos) and noticed negligible extra drag. -Eric |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Where to buy a strap on? :D Looks like x-shorts might still be available on ebay thru Dive-Xtras. 50 are listed as available -- definitely a different model from the pair I got off of fifthd several years back. http://cgi.ebay.com/Scuba-diving-X-S...QQcmdZViewItem |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Where to buy a strap on? :D Mark, Most cave divers get rid of about half of the crap that open water divers carry on dives. Think less is more! The more stream lined the better. My suscpision is if you show up with a bunch of pockets, your instructor will probably want you to get rid of most of them. If you must have a pocket, Dive Rite makes a small belt pocket that can hold your extra mask (if you choose to carry one). Reels will probably go on D-rings next to your back plate. If you carry a slate, you may want to consider an arm mounted version. Again, streamlined is the name of the game for the well dressed caver dude! You will probably find that over time, you will dump virtually everything that you absolutely don't need. It is the eternal cave diver quest, to constantly be tweaking your gear to get rid of all no critical gear. Just my $.02. Hope you have an excellent time. Once a caver, you may never look at another wreck with the same fondness!
