| Re: thinking of giving up hey Clive, are you serious? i think you are giving up too easily Mr. if it was me, i would dive on my own, but then again, you haven't got a lot of experience underwater either way. try to find someone then, let him dive his OC unit, and you dive your meg. that way, he shall be feeling his tanks every time, while you'll probably feel yours every 3-4 dives.... Take care.

| Re: thinking of giving up Hi, the problem is indeed not only yours. In January I organized a TEC & CCR cruise only, on my home-page you have the dutch story Aquatec Diving Technology :: Home and on Tekstreme Technical Diving Articles - Tekstreme Safari 5th Jan 2007, by Sarah Woodford the english version. The trip for 9 until 16 November is fully booked but we will do a second week with the emperor fleet platinum rated MY TRANQUILLITY 16-23/11 ex Hurghada / or Safaga. Main rule is that I only take 14 diving addicted people on a luxury boat for a reasonable price. Information will follow asap. Greets Yves |

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: thinking of giving up Hi Clive, Come on ! Get up my friend. All RBW communauty is with you as you can see. We are maybe few divers in this world to have this passion, love with an aparatus that seems magic, but all of us has the same goal. Go further in their maitrise and control of themself. not only for diving but for their entire life. Days after days, you will love it more and more because it will procure you great pleasure in your mind. It's not only diving, but get a new approach, a new philosophy. Make confiance with your first act in buying it, you did because unconciously, I think, you need this approach. I don't think we go to Rebreather by hazard or with no deep reasons. After, I know it's not easy to find people to dive, boat, support from even friend. People see you as a crazy guy ! And so. You are a lonely cowboy, man but you have people like you in the whole world ! And it's a beautiful communauty, you can be proud also to go in this same way. If you search anywhere in the world you can find your good buddy to dive with, to share with and to have lot of fun. DON'T GIVE UP CLEVE ! GET UP And as I told you, if one day you are in France, give me sign and come dive with me. I am in the same desert as you here. That also why I am going to make a French association only for Rebreather in order to promote this kind of diving, in order RB diver could meet them, share, dive in one beautiful mediteerrannean place with same passion. |

| CK+Shearwater Current Rebreather/s: | Re: thinking of giving up Hi Clive, Obviously a rather narrow minded club, unless its your apparent inexperience they are questioning rather than the Rebreather itself? I dunno what agency your club is with but BSAC (for example) cover basic rebreather information during the training of its Club and Ocean divers, much in the same way we mention Nitrox, Trimix, Decompression and all the other "things to come" As such no one in completely ignorant to what your using and often they just ask questions. Our club has gone from 0-4 rebreathers in 2years, we dive with all the other members on shallow shore dives or deep wreck dives, its just A.N.Other type of SCUBA afterall. Don't give up just yet, don't ram it down their throats either, all I did when we first got a rebreather in the club was send out a quick mail to everyone with a guide along the lines of- "So your diving with a rebreather buddy- what to do" and most people where happy once they knew it was almost the same proceedures as OC. Talk to your clubs committee and sort things out and enjoy your Rebreather ![]()

| Re: thinking of giving up Hi Clive Me and my partner / dive buddy had the same problem out our BSAC club so we moved to another BSAC club the first didn't want anything to do with us the new club were happy for us to use and then we put on a lecture nite to explain the working and use of the kit and also some try sessions in the pool and had half the club taking part. So keep with it Barry |

| Re: thinking of giving up well lads, as my title goes, thats whats on my mind at the mo. not feeling sorry for myself but feeling quiet bad. ever since my thread, MOD1 COMPLETE WITH CEDRIC, well as all of you know how that one goes, things have gotten worse. now since i came back from trainning in thailand, my club dosent want to know, REBREATHERS, REBREATHERS, NO REBREATHERS, ive turned up at a number of dives since and was told, sorry clive have no one to dive with you, people look at me now like i have the pox.. in the last few weeks ive bought, a megaldon rebreather, an otter brittanic dry suit, vr3 amongst others and for what. i am heading away to OZ in august but christ i didnt think things would be like this before i head. my diving officer gave me a great appaulise when i gave a briefing on my unit to my club, " bail out ", and all so i thought it would be good. but no one wants to know, so im posting this to let people know thats all, best wishes, clive They are right of course. You best get rid of the unit quickly & seeing how it such a dangerous thing it needs to be disposed of properly if you are to avoid legal problems later.Lucky for you there is an organization that has been formed to help goodfellows such as yourself that are in a bind, Rebreathers International Partnership Of Free Friendship. Be looking for a PM from R.I.P.O.F.F. We are here to help. Regards RAL PS you will also be recieving our latest news letter with its lead article "Is The VR3 a tool of the AntiChrist?" Do not wait too long we will aborb 1/2 the shipping costs if you act within the next 48 hours!!!!! Chin up mate DLTBGYD.

(Personal Rebreather International Carbon offsetting Klan) are helping those people keeping their units to get back in touch with their OC expenditure while offsetting the considerable carbon footprint of CCR diving. Everytime you get an O2, Helium or Air dil fill a cute baby Kitten is murdered, a rare collared Dove falls dead from a tree and a whole acre of pristine Colombian Rain Forest is burnt to the ground to generate the energy and chemicals needed to take you diving... you don't even want to know where sofnolime comes from! To offset this waste we at P.R.I.C.K. will take £5 for each gas fill and £10 for scrubber fill and make you carbon neutral (as well as adequately lining our pockets with "administration fees") If you have a VR£ (Aka Tool of AntiChrist) we can offset the souls you've driven to hell with a single annual £500 subscription (or £55/month over 12 months, £1800 Administration Costs + £0.76 Carbon offset) Much in the same way as R.I.P.O.F.F. we give you peace of mind and clear conscience to dive knowing the planet is safe, mankind will continue and the American way is protected. (you know- loafing about on your porch, cracking off rounds of buckshot at the paperboy etc.) All of course BEN

| Re: thinking of giving up Have a look at http://tecdiver.ie/ There is always Rebreather trips being organised. Owing to the fact that I don't have a RB myself I've not been on one but know a few lads that have - always seem to have good craic. Mind you if it doesn't work out I'll give you 20 quids for the Meg ![]() All joking aside, I've being eyeing up a Meg for a while now and if I'm down Cork way soon I'd love to have a gander!! |
