Cambands not Tigermounts for my Meg.......

Hi guys!
I am tired of my ratteling Tiger mounts and I would like to mount my tanks valves up with normal cambands in stead. Two on each tank. More streamlined and easier to switch to what ever tanks that there is. I do use my tanks with different rebreathers almost every day.
I have tried to do something with single tank adapters but it is not stable enough.
Need something that look like a X or something that rest on the Meg scrubber and will support the tank it self too.
Any one have any suggestions?
No I am not a blacksmith

Cheers

Re: Cambands not Tigermounts for my Meg.......

gosh I have never had any problems with my tiger gear, just love them. Leon from ISC has just introduced the new mounts, I believe the article about them was in Beneath the sea thread. I only had problems with slipping on cam bands trying to get them tight so not to slide, and when you fill your cylinders you have to re adjust again. not for me, but check out the new low profile on the new mounts from ISC.

Re: Cambands not Tigermounts for my Meg.......

Had g-snaps on my KISS and did not like them either....
Every time I turn i get that "clonk" sound And It would be nice not to have that space between scrubber and tanks.
Cambands are great....just need to find a way to make it stable.....

Hi Rodge,
i have used x-brackets for a long time on the meg. i like you, use different cylinders at different locations and find the tiger gear a bit of a pain. i only used one x bracket on each side with a stainless steel buckle on the cam band (not plastic). it is true the x bracket is not as stable as the tiger gear, but saying that i have never had a tank slip off in hundreds of dives. Patti is right, the new shadow mounts rock. i have been trying a set for a few weeks now. they are low profile and sleek and tight! but then you need to mount on each cylinder. so the choice is yours. if you need x-brackets i have lots for sale now that i am moving to the shadow mounts. good luck and pm me if you need any help.
mel
(ps i will be away for the next week in the DR )
