| Re: Off topic posts from Dr.Mikes BOB thread Seems as though no one is permitted to 'discuss' anything in public if it interferes with the status quo. I was more interested to know why AM's thread was off topic and not the details of the infraction. Or is there a term and condition prohibiting that as well ?

| Re: some pics of my bob head Add a suit flood on top of that and you have buoyancy problems. Don't spank AM by putting her on Read-only, she like that so much ![]() Seriously, a famous cave diver with two Rebreather cut his suit around -120m, so had to turn back, not too much much trouble going up (he said) until unfortunetly the cave dropped down from -57m to -78m (on the way back) then he was bloody happy to have trimix stages to inflate his suit, even if it was bloody cold gas to inflate the suit, and he finished a bit in hypothermia in the habitat. So double Rebreather maybe, but enough gas to inflate the suit ? maybe ? Oh and I forgot to tell you about a guy in the same cave funny enough, who did run out of inflating gas at -160m, thanks god the scooter took him up, but the passage again in the -78m (after going through a high point at -57m) was lets say ... shrinking ![]() ![]() ![]() J |

I would suspect that it has everything to do with "attitude"... "rudeness"... "not playing well with others"... that caused it... I was more interested to know why AM's thread was off topic and not the details of the infraction. Or is there a term and condition prohibiting that as well ? ![]() Dive Safe... Mark |

Or should we just take everything thats posted by the established Guru's as gospel ? Debating 101: Debate Ideas. Do not debate People or their worth. Avoid Ad-Hominum attacks, they have no place in debate. Be polite. Be sincere when you ask a question: You might learn something. People have feelings. Respect them. Shake hands when you are done. | Re: Off topic posts from Dr.Mikes BOB thread I do not disagree with anything you have stated in your ideas on debating, however I fail to see where people or their worth were brought into question (other than perhaps a reference to suffering from PMT). I believe that the debate (albeit off the original topic) centred around the use and possible dangers of using bailout rebreathers ? The reason I asked the question that I did was because there seemed to be constructive questions being asked, and I feel that there would be genuine benefit in following the train of thought to its conclusion, whichever way that happened to go. It seems that now we will never really have a balanced view though. Sorry ![]()

Then we *respectfully* disagree.... which is exactly how it should be. *Respectful* dsagreement is part and parcel. Disrespectful disagreement is not of value. DrMike has unique experience, and his methods are independantly verifiable. His work is cutting edge. He has no reason to share other than being a good neighbor. The challenge to him was unmistakable, and was rudely phrased. The same questions might have been asked in a far more polite way, and would have elicited a far greater data set from DrMike than what is now available. Dave

| Re: Off topic posts from Dr.Mikes BOB thread Do I infer therefore that AM's experience is less valid than Mikes ? Both seem to have conflicting views on the use of BOB's and whilst neither may have been particularly well schooled in tact and diplomacy*, it was nevertheless an interesting debate. *although I am unaware of Am having ever jumped out of a bush ![]()
