Advice Sought

This is a thread I never thought I would have to post, however do n't really know where to turn to next.

An OC diving colleague continues to carry out out progressively solo deeper dives on OC air, this weekend to a solo depth of 57m, in a cold uk quarry without any surface support.

Despite diect advice of the hazards such diving may create the solo depth continues to increas.

I do n't want to create a debate about the limits of OC air diving but would like your comments on this type of diving so that I can pass them on, to either point him in the direction of deep OC air divers in th NW of england that he can contact, or build a consencious of opinion that may make the individual re think and avoid becoming a statistic

Re: Advice Sought

Deep diving was discussed ad nausem on the Deco Stop forum at

The Deco Stop

The solo diving aspect is there as well. Some of the divers offering opinions there have many 1000's of hours diving.

Sometimes common sense must be achieved via the personal painfull manner of direct injury.

Presumably others have tried logic and failed.

Good luck

Hey, look on the bright side.

At least his foolish dive practices are likely to only claim his life one day

He doesn't appear to value it anyway

I think all the old and bold who were doing 70m wrecks on air because they had nothing else would see it a different way.

Mention to your OC friend that a whiff of helium would take him even deeper and see what happens. At least if he's looking into it he can make an informed decision.
