| Blogs Admin / Forum Mod ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Meg goes to 255* STOP - PRESS For immediate release! Sydney, 16 March 2007 In preparation for the OzTek'07 dive show this weekend in Sydney, Australia, some diving luminaries joined the Sydney Project to dive a local wreck at 255*. Ron Micjan and Donal Walsh (Sydney Project) - both on Meg - joined John Chatterton - Evolution, Andy Del (Sydney Project, CK), Samir Alhafith (Sydney Project, Classic Inspo) and Paul Garske (Sydney Project, diving "The Fridge", his twInspiration) on a daring dive to P.S. Koputai this morning. Pictures, dive plans etc when available. (The editor: Pictures of Ron have been removed from the press release due to him showing too much skin - sandals, shorts and a jacket are not deemed to be appropriate attire for Sydney diving. Shame on him! ![]() This is by far the deepest dive for a Meg - ever ** Due to the team effort the Meg actually went down to 510* !!! *** The runtime for the dive was approx 9h **** A lot of the credit goes to the surface support crew consisting of Zoe and Josh, without whom this achievement would not have been possible. In perfect visibility (10-20m), Ron and John surveyed the scenic, picturesque reef on which the wreck is located (opposite direction from the wreck), before spending the remaining few minutes of their dive on the wreck itself. Chased by Giant Cuttlefish and Samir's pipehorse, they entirely missed the binnacle on the starboard side of the wreck. After leaving nothing but a shadow, (the) divers ascended back up the anchor line. John was overheard mumbling curses against Greek gods and buerocracy throughout the dive. But that is an entirely different story ... Congratulations to the team! * feet ** in numbers *** accumulated **** total for all divers

He's a fashion statement whereever he goes. But if he starts winking at anything that moves , you'll know he's been away from home too long.Looking forward to the pictures (as record documentation of course). |
