Rebreather test drive

I just got back from snowy Minnesota, where I test dove some Rebreather at Going Under Dive Center. Ron is a great guy and runs a nice Techie sort of dive store.
The Evolution with the new Inspiration electronics. Very nice, slick and well put together. You can tell it is a true production unit from a company that has made many rebreathers. Everything is well made and fits together without "fiddling". It dove wonderfully.
The other unit I dove was a KISS classic with Meg neoprene OS CL and shearwater electronics. Also very nice, but not as polished as the evo, which is to be expected as it was an owner modified unit. I messed around in them for almost two hours and had a great time. I loaded up on sorb at a good price.
Highly recommended if your in the area.

Re: Rebreather test drive

I talked with my bro today and he said it took him 8 hours, but we are in the south burbs...Takes about an hour just to get to Schaumburg for us.

I've never gotten a ticket on I90... I80, 294, 94, and 290 yes...but never 90...

actually if you fly through O'hare, it may take an extra day or two.

As for Ron, I have nothing but good things to say about my dealings with him!

Re: Rebreather test drive

Got you beat. I drove 12 hours from Michigan to do pool demos at Going Under Dive Center last summer. Worth every minute - Ron is definitely an expert.
