![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Scootering with a rebreather. I'm off for a play with a scooter in a couple of weeks, buddying a friend who is looking at buying a small one. I can't think of anything in particular to be wary of, anyone any pointers? I have used scooters before on OC. Thanks in advance.

You will be a little less aware of your buoyancy, until you stop.I can't think of anything in particular to be wary of, anyone any pointers? I have used scooters before on OC. Thanks in advance. If you are diving MCCR watch your PO2 as you will use significantly less O2. Scooters are noisier when diving CCR, but then everything else is ![]() Ted

I find I often need to hold my DSV with one hand and the scooter with the other. It really depends on how long you are scootering continuously for, but jaw fatigue can be an issue. Aloha, Charlie

Make a chin rest for the DSV/BOV goes a long way to help jaw fatigue.I scootered a lot with the KISS BOV, and had Gordon made me an extended SS bottom plate (look at the SS plate goes around the switch on bottom) to replace the original. Then bend the extended lip to fit your chin. This puts the pressure on the chin when scootering and prevents the BOV from being rotated from your mouth. Same idea could be applied to other BOV. I am scootering with the Golem BOV now, and adding a small foam pad on the inside of the 2nd stage to rest the chin on.
