Insurance, any ideas!

Hello all, sorry for a boring topic for my first post but I need to insure my box and dive kit. Westfield seems good cover but bloody expensive about £38 per K I think so £152 just for the breather.

So, who do you use?

Do you insure the breather seperately?

Thanks

How did you get £10k - the max is £5k?

Funny you should ask this today....

I just sorted this out this morning... Renewal notification came through and I thought I should amend their standard £125,000 contents part (quite why it's so big I don't know, but it's their standard)

I changed their contents part to an "unspecified personal items" policy which gives me cover for any single item up to £1000 with a maximum per claim of £2500. On top of this I added the YBOD specifically valued at £4k. So if all my kit goes missing, I'll have cover for a good chunk of it, and this cover also covers me to take it out of the house, if it's locked in the car, and when I'm on holiday within Europe and for 60 days worldwide.

I'm with Frizzell for both my home and contents, and these changes to my policy increased the premium by less than a hundred quid a year

I put it on my home insurance as a specific item and I insured my dive kit for £15,000 with £1000 single item cover for storage outside the house and transport and storage anywhere in the world. Including dive boats, Airports and plains. Only thing I couldn’t get cover for is intentional dumping of the kit in an emergency. The YBOD is itemised as 5K and down as Ambient Pressure Diving Equipment Just in case I go for something that’s not a YBOD and forget to change the policy.

I am with More Than house and contents insurance which is part of Royal Insurance. My premium went up by £160 but I increased my house and contense cover at the same time due to extensions on the property.
