VR3 Issues

How do you turn on the BG MODE i have gone to dive menu through the DVO however i can not select option. I can only scroll between last stop ajust and light ajust.

the VR3 is C4 bul alga

Danny if you get online you may have to quote modle so we know the software.

Miko: Before you consider the BG upgrade, be advised that in that mode, your total time to the surface is not displayed. For that reason, I never run my VR3 in BG mode. Instead, I got a mask with gauge readers. That works the best for me.
On many dives, I do plan a defined BT and know my run time before hand. However sometimes if I'm not too cold and bailout gas is not a problem, I prefer to wing it.
You can disable the BG mode if it IS installed so perhaps it is an option for some. Peter

also, I have noticed that BG mode doesnt really make it easier to read, just makes the charactres taller, not bold. I have it on mine but never use it.

Too funny... Sounds like we have all done the same thing.. I ordered the upgrade.... Thought... This will be cool..... During my first dive it scratched my head and said... where the f%($& is the TTS. Forgot about it... Did a second dive... remembered.. and promptly turned it off...

I did testdive a VR3 so I was abit wondering what others are saying about the VR3. Any one with some comments?

Did ever someone notice that the text on the VR3 is not very easy too read especially in a low light situation?

Did you wish the display had bigger characters?

Is there a better contrast with the color display VR3?

Yes. It's IMO much easier to read, especially in low light conditions.

TTS is too important to forgo. Lenses in your mask will help old eyes.

BG mode = waste of time & money. For same $$$, get reading lenses put in your favorite mask. FAR better reurn on investment.

Getting old truly sucks, don't it? ONLY upside is that it beats the alternative.
