Dive-Tek Cyprus Newsletter

Hi folks,

It's been a while since we posted anything up, but we're still here and growing! Attached is our newsletter with updates for this year.

NEWS...NEWS...NEWS...NEWS...NEWS...

The newsletter of DIVE-TEK CYPRUS, the only dedicated 100% Tech Diving facility in Cyprus

Spring 2006

After a successful 1st year, we ran our last courses mid-December, with 3 students completing different ITDA programs from Nitrox to Trimix Diver levels, and Nitrox Blender.

With bookings so far through until October, we kicked-off 2006 properly at the beginning of March, with Al Wright from MV Salutay coming out with a Trimix course, managing to get 2 Zenobia trips in at the same time.

The end of March saw a quick dash back to attend LIDS, working the ITDA stand with Steve Murray & Co, who are doing a superb job in taking ITDA forward in giant leaps. Several more Instructors crossed-over at the show, and this year sees ITDA moving forward at an impressive rate. With Regional Offices now firmly established in Europe, the Middle East, Far East, and Service Offices in 26 countries, ITDA are now taking a good hold in the USA, with Australia coming aboard in the very near future. ITDA now boast a wide range of programs, from Sport and Technical to some very impressive Medical and Hyperbaric programs, with excellent training materials and support. With the European and Group offices based in the UK, and headed-up by Steve, you can be assured of an answer to your questions and queries every time, and their online student registration system means fast turnaround on certs and materials.

The NEC this year sees ITDA on an even bigger stand, No. 940, which you won’t miss as you walk in the door, so drop-by and see what’s on offer! Steve is also organising various instructor training events throughout the year, including Cyprus in September and November, so take a look at their site and see what ITDA can offer you: www.itdagroup.com.

In Cyprus this month, we have 2 established dive centres coming on-board with ITDA, so a big welcome to all the guys there – check the ITDA site for their details.

Mark Powell has recently returned to UK, after another excellent Zenobia group trip and Advanced Wreck Course, followed by Advanced Trimix, and is busy organizing an October trip with most places already filled, so if you want to get on his gig contact him asap at: mark@dive-tech.co.uk. Mark is also looking at getting a trip organized mid-summer for anyone interested in Archaeology, when we’re planning to get some dives on the Green Bay Wreck Project headed by Axel Schoeller. It’s still in the planning stage, but watch our websites for details, and if interested, it would be wise to get your name down with Mark now to reserve a place. Check –out project progress at: www.aquatec-innerspace.com

This year also saw us crossing-over to BSAC’s Tech Program, but although the OC training won’t be fully available until 2007, we’re still offering full facilities for BSAC tech divers, and can fully accommodate branch trips, tech and sports alike, so Branch Officers, let’s hear from you!

I’m trying to keep the website updated as much as possible, and we’ll soon be adding more info on kit, trip reports, projects and articles. If you think you have a good link you’d like us to add, please drop us a line.

So, that's all folks! Look forward to seeing you this year!
