Re: Why Jet Fins? and a deal for you

Whew...I take a few days off to get my eyes operated on and man...this was a spirited debate. It looks like the Jets win this one. Ok, I'll really give them an honest try. They are standing by with the proper springs (I hope or yes...Thank God for McMaster Carr)... I should have taken notes while reading this. A lot of great replies from some very experienced divers. I had to admit I was laughing my rearend off with some of the comedy. Love the lady shaving her bever. What does it mean to look "nancy" could that be like girly or fem? Sorry, after all I intend to use it and I want to get it right...remember I'm a yank. We don't use that one over here,,,,, yet. I can't comment on force fins except, sorry...I just can't get past the look of them, too um...Nancy? Yep I admit it in this case looks count and most all... of you don't seem to like em either. One last thing...I hope you all took my opening post (and maybe a few follow ups) as I meant it, comedic and toung and cheek ("Lead Tech DM"). Mainly, I just wanted to save you some money if you wanted a nice set of heel springs, find out your thoughts and draw from your mastery. I was kind of thinking a spicy post would get that done...It did. Thanks for that...I hope I didn't offend anyone with the DIR Retard comments, but that stroke thing....I don't like it, and I think we all know there's different ways of doing things, it's devisive and the whole us VS them thing doesn't advance our sport at all. I really wish it had never come about. But hey that's a subject for another time (not). I do stand by my statement about the Austrailians though...100%. There were a bunch on the 747 from LAX to Sidney beating the hell out of each other with pillows and running all over the place. I wish Americans could learn to lighen up like that group. Oh and the YBOD...I was just doing the class for fun, my own CCR and my favorite is the Classic KISS. Not sure I'll dive the YBOD again...don't own one, but it worked fine for me, didn't break or kill me and seemed to be a nice easy breather. I had to try one. Last, did I say something bad about East Coast Divers? Um, hmmm....don't know any, sorry, I think? Ok you old Jet Fins.....show me some precision, power, and all that other stuff...Craig

First he pats both his trouser pockets, then both his shirt pockets, then his back pockets, then he makes some weak excuse for financial embarrassment.
If the group won't wear it, he may repeat the process, racking up more and more pitiful excuses why he drank all those beers bought for him, but can't afford a round himself!
The Aussie Haka is very well known to all Kiwis.
Your innocence of the practice is highly suspect!

I honestly don't know what everyone's issue is with the foot pocket, I've never had a problem with mine? I'm a size 9 (oz) shoe, and the XL's fit me fine, both in drysuit and wetsuit...

Ah well, maybe I'm just a freak...

I have some "Jetfins", I can't think why they are known as jet though.

So far as I can see the main use is on a dive boat. They are that heavy that if you wear them on a boat in a rough sea you're unlikely to fall over. They are a kind of "diver stand"

Quattros for me! they Rock and they Roll.

Re: Why Jet Fins? and a deal for you

Well, I've had a chance to re-discover the old Jet fin. I must admit with the right size heel springs, they arn't bad at all. I may even switch over. The springs make it very easy to get them on which I really like. They are a bit tough to get off due to the suction inside. The propulsion seemed to be OK and the frog is very good. I'll stay with them for more dives to dial in my final answer. So far...Not Bad. Craig

Re: Why Jet Fins? and a deal for you

I've had a few more dive with the Jets...I seem to be getting small sore spots on my ankles from the springs, I may have to put longer springs on them after all. Other then that, I like them...Craig
