Camelion...modular replacement scrubber

Hi all,
Wasn't sure where to post this, but this seems like a good place for it! I make the Aliboxes and show them on the forums. Some 18 months ago I teamed up with a good friend of mine, Pascal Eeckhoudt who is Fenzy on the forums here. We tried to design something new and different and out of our collaboration we created Camelion. A modular replacement scrubber initially aimed at the inspiration users. I'm sure a lot of Classic divers are upgrading or improving their gear or are just looking to see if there is something better on the market. We didnt want to create a whole new rebreather but tried to create something new. Our scrubber and electronic pod is the heart of our unit, machined from solid aluminium. All hoses, lungs, wing and most other equipment from the Inspo fits back on. The electronics pod is designed to hold up to 5 cells, pretty much any electronics can be placed inside and there are 2 oxygen feeds allowing you to run on solenoid and/or a CMF system along side. It gives you the freedom to set up your Rebreather the way you want. We have really tried to make the unit user friendly and field servicable. Cell changes and even solenoid changes take no time at all and no tools are required. The scrubber is under testing but holds 2.6 kg of scrubber and at the moment is radial, although an axial can be placed without modifications. We will be showing this product at the london dive show, but would like to point out that this is a prototype. It is not for sale or in production. We would like to see if there is a place for a product like this on the market and would welcome you to come and take a look. We have a few pre show pictures on Naamloos document

Best regards,
Michael & Pascal

Re: Camelion...modular replacement scrubber

Michael,

Is that a dual scrubber design like on the rEvo or is one pod for the electronics, unsure from the photos?

Looks good, very stealth!

Get a set of BMCL's on it and you will probably have a winner.

Cheers,

Dave Cooper.

hi dave
1 electronic pod 1 scrubber. electronic pod will house anything you want to put in it, within reason, designed to fit all standard inspo gear for testing .bmcls is something to look into at a future date.
cheers dave.try and make it to lids.

Mike it sounds really good, unfortunately won't be at LIDS otherwise I would have had a real good look, it looks very well done and I am sure will have some really good success.

CCR really is a buyer's market these days and all the choice available including third-party add-ons can only be good for the consumer.

Once again, well done.

Cheers,

Dave.

our main aim is, on getting the scrubber working the way we want it.any improvement after that is a bonus.rear lungs will certainly be an option for the future.

That makes sense, but the trend of CCR divers I am seeing today, is a move towards BMCL more and more, this is customer driven and a good indicator of what the CCR of tomorrow should have, if you can offer an affordable solution to BMCL as an add-on you will get quite a few sales, if CE worries you, you can always sell from Switzerland, we would be happy to help.

Cheers,

Dave.

hi dave .
thanks for the offer , much appreciated .our main aim at the end of the day would to get CE aproval as a standard setup, rear lungs would be a bonus even offered as an option, we still have to do some major testing to make sure everything works the way we want. building the perfect system is near impossible and sure people will pick out the weaknesses in our set up, which is why we are showing it now, external input is invaluable for improving the unit.
cheers dave
