Not having owned a unit doest mean someone cant see the design weaknesses - just as owning a unit doesnt mean someone understands how it works and what its design weaknesses are......as we have seen I wasnt even thinking of you mike when I told Phi that I would vote for that one, but thank you so much for reminding me, now why dont you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice in it? ![]() However, I think the phrase was CCR expert, not design critic, so you can go back to sleep now.

![]() | Re: Gue debating use of eccr rebreathers? The posts from Richard (Richard Lundgren) on this thread reflect the type of interaction I have had with people who follow the GUE methodology. The old DIR days of G3 should be left behind us. I have a number of freinds who are very dedicated to GUE however that does not stop them diving with me, practicing OC skills, socialising, or sharing opinions. I think our group of divers is better for it. We need to move on from the old days, learn from everyone and enjoy the sport that we all love. Ignore the right wing element that hold onto ancient history. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Gue debating use of eccr rebreathers? Did anyone here attend? Greg Hi list, short enduser-nonprofessional review ( not an official GUE-statement! ) about last weekends GUE-conference, my first GUE-gig so far, missed the other two. Perfectly met eyeline and good enhancement with the diversity of Stockholm conference last year. I liked the strong focus on ecological/hydrological efforts and its links to cavediving, good presentations easy to follow also for dummies like me. Medical/deco stuff also real nice and well presented, some new stuff too, I was impressed how well american, french/mexican, australian and kiwi-humor seems to match eyeline with the british, something to be really jealous about while holding german citizenship, BTW I missed more german enduser-faces beyond training and sales-professionals. Overall excellent content / ease ratio, eloquent moderation by Jarrod also supported the good rhythm, I'm positive it was not the coffee helping to keep people online, it was the lottery :-)) CCR-experts, excellent idea IMHO to invite CCR-people like Phil Short, Rick Stanton, Kevin Gurr, Simon Mitchell, also for sending a signal to overcome the old communication/political issues and rituals. Me being a former CCR-user really enjoys to experience improvements in ghostbusting and de-demonizeing inside DIR-crowds, I was impressed how it was possible to have a decent dicussion about this, though CCR's Achilles heel, the sensors were left out of discussion, maybe to avoid ritualizing and locking up the discussion. For sure Jarrod Jablonski was clear about his POV, SCR remains THE tool even for the time beeing on those long WKPP explorationdives, as also EKPP and RB80's designer Reinhard Buchaly have well proven the capability with the recent heavy sawtooth caveprofiles etc. pls. check EKPP.org for profiles, all done on pSCR RB80. It seems to remain consensus among DIR-crews, too many shortcomings of current CCR-technology, electronics and sensors, as much as CCR is truly seductive for remote/deep diving. Meet'n greet: Really cool to have the full lineup of GUE Training directors - Who's-who including George Irvine to peeve them with questions. In short: All in all this was an excellent reminder for me why I chose to take GUE-training and my liberal soul tolerates to be continously called nazi/sheep/stupid/narrowminded or whatever. Thanks for all the conciliating reactions in this thread. Cool! Chapeau! Respect! More! Thanks! Best, Hoffi Last edited by nskdrs : 6th December 2007 at 13:39. Reason: language skills, damn it :-) |

So it is not true that GUE is considering using the Posedion Discovery VI for deep cave exploration? ferg, you may want to get those sarcasm sensors replace on your unit, as mine were pegged on this one. Gue is holding out for the Cis mark 7

I knew thay had another unit in production and for what they are doing in their mindset the cis lunar is proven technology. But then again with poseidon taking over cis lunar, and the BOV likely to be using a canabalised upstream reg do you think this be changed or accepted as the norm - as it could fail shut...., and I know this is for JJ's teams big pushes where they are at their current or approaching the limit of scr. But still standards are standards. |
