Re: DANGER - Valves - more legislation

I found a helpful article on Divernet. Just what we need, the Standards do-gooders inventing a solution for a non existent problem. They seem to be the same the world over!

Re: DANGER - Valves - more legislation

Duly signed, as if the government will take any notice!! Their speciality seems to be inventing solutions for problems that don't exist... they're currently trumpeting a new law they're introducing to prosecute people for "minding" firearms for criminals... obviously desperately needed as the police/courts couldn't possibly prosecute them for possession of an illegal firearm could they?... Oh yeah, they already do don't they!!

Re: DANGER - Valves - more legislation

the problem whith this eu law is that its already in act.there is no way now of changing it or stopping it .this should of been stopped 2 years ago a petition will not work..and the sad thing about this eu law is that all eu mp from all eu countrys have to vote yes for it to pass .( so the uk voted yes).sad

Thumbs down Re: DANGER - Valves - more legislation

Vote with ya feet ,don't buy it ,don't support it , have nothing to do with it ..
It could easily be defeated ...If everyone sticks together .....and does the same thing .It may mean ya can't get nitrox for a while , but so what ...most dives don't need it anyway..

Re: DANGER - Valves - more legislation

Although this is perceved as an EU bag of shite, I was told a while back, on good authority that once again, the UK was involved in setting the whole M26mm valve thing in motion, one name that cropped up was Martin Parker ?

I work in the Electrical contracting industry, the UK has been involved in many things that have been seen as EU crap, harmonization of cable colours for one.

Re: DANGER - Valves - more legislation

Hello,

Different valves for EAN and Trimix? Probably should also have different valves for Air and different valves for pure O2... might as well add different valves for hypoxic Trimix and normoxic Trimix, and add a set of valves for EAN with O2 concentrations above 40%.

That will make everyone safe as can be.

Of course everyone will use adapters to avoid having to purchase dedicated regs and whips.... which will negate any benefit and probably cause more deaths.... (if we somehow assume there was a benefit in the first place).

If you make a more idiot proof system the world will just produce better idiots.
