![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Draeger Nova FFM? I have been playing with the idea of getting a FFM for my Meg,tried th KM 48 but lost interest when I could not get the Rebreather-pod. So here are a few questions.. -It looks a bit big, does it feel big when diving? -How much is it in Europe? -Is it easy to equalize? -Does it come in a "breatherversion"? -I have a Golem BOV,any tried it with a BOV? Any views and ideas would be most wellcome Best regards Rodge Last edited by rogeringebo : 9th October 2006 at 17:53. Reason: typo |

Equalising is easy once you have adjusted the pads to suit your nose Yes, there is a CCR version, this comes with a bite mouthpiece Bailout on the Nova is via a 2nd stage plugged into one of the side ports, to breath OC you simply breathe through your nose. Downside: There is a sliding assembly on the internal mouthpiece, if this isn't either fully open or fully closed it can lead to a flood, DrMike has already posted about this. All in all I highly rate this mask, just need to strip mine down and lube the sliding assembly now. Ian |

Does lead to quite an interesting decision for the uncommited since the mask and a BOV cost roughly the same. Do you go for a BOV or a mask and stick a second stage on the side? Simon |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Draeger Nova FFM? You would have to get a p-port for your reg,dsv or BOV so it can be fitted to the mask.... I know that both the Meg and Boris can be fitted with p-port dsv´s.....but never seen a BOV with p-port.......I dont want a reg on the side of the mask if that can be avoided.... /Rodge |

Yes BOVs with PPorts are readily available - you should PM oxyboy at DiveTek in Australia off this forumI know that both the Meg and Boris can be fitted with p-port dsv´s.....but never seen a BOV with p-port.......I dont want a reg on the side of the mask if that can be avoided.... /Rodge |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Draeger Nova FFM? Sorry I edited>> the old text since I agree with the old text -How much is it in Europe? >>>EUR 979 TX100 is EUR 269 (expensive) -Is it easy to equalize? >>>>very easy also with gloves -Does it come in a "breatherversion"? >>>>PanoramaNova Dive-R check site: W+S Watersafety (sorry only in German) The site has lots of parts not only for the Draeger. Also check TecMe.de he has the mask sometime for sale (at present) I find the mask is generally very comfortable and it doesn't feel big in use. Equalising is easy once you have adjusted the pads to suit your nose Yes, there is a CCR version, this comes with a bite mouthpiece Bailout on the Nova is via a 2nd stage plugged into one of the side ports, to breath OC you simply breathe through your nose. Downside: There is a sliding assembly on the mouth piece...sometime leaking....... I did not have any issues with this part of the mask. I would only add that the assembly can feel heavey especially on land. I have used a different mask but this one fits and works well with the Dolphin. Andreas |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Draeger Nova FFM? Is there any reason why the mask could not be used with a BOV? The only reason a BOV can't be used with a FFM would be the lack of a connector for the two. As mentioned above, Divematics USA makes adapters for FFM and their BOV, I've seen the one for the AGA, M48 and Dräger masks. The latter is in the pics below.Does lead to quite an interesting decision for the uncommited since the mask and a BOV cost roughly the same. Do you go for a BOV or a mask and stick a second stage on the side? Threaded ends for Rebreather hoses are available for most models, AP, Jetsam, Dräger, O2ptima etc. Last but not least, you have the choice of 2nd stage as it's attached to the valve (rather than one regs internals in a custom housing). Prices are on Divematics website. ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Draeger Nova FFM? If someone can get me the drawings (or measurements) for the p-port, we can make Golem BOV that will plug into this FFM. Is the p-port standard Draeger p-port? |

| Cap Ron scourge of the NW ![]() ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Draeger Nova FFM? yup, standard P Port, you kinda want to get the unit as close to the mask as possible, the above pic DSV sticks way out, I think you would want to get it closer to remove the dead space between the divers mouth and the mushroom valves. Here is a pic of my mask with the ISC DSV that was made for it. No BOV though which of course will add some length
