![]() | Thanks for the info Rob. I seen the M-48 with OC/DSV at Underwater Intervention in New Orleans earlier this year. I believe Amron and Mar Vel are both selling them. A friend of mine dives with one on his Inspiration and swears buy it. I still have not desided. Craig Bussel |

KM will not currently sell the Rebreather pod to the civilian market and when it does (hopefully) they will only sell through either RB manufacturers or training agencies purely for training and liability issues. I know at one point Ap valves was working on CE approval but I don't think thast went anywhere because KM pulled the pod of the market. I believe that AP is also looking at the Drager but that could also be gossip.I seen the M-48 with OC/DSV at Underwater Intervention in New Orleans earlier this year. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Last time I used an FFM was an Ocean Reef and I did thanks my habit to have the second regulator separated. "Thanks" to my buddy I got the FFM removed just enough to have a flood. Not that nice if you are around 60 m. I took it off and dressed the spare mask, since then never used an FFM again. However I dove the Ocean Reef, EXO26, AGA and MK48 and find that AGA was the best between them: easy, good viz, good oromask for CO2,... However I usually dive in cold water (4/5° C) around 80/90 m with normal mask and the last piece of body to have cold is the face. A good point for a FFM is risk of drawning because of OxTox, but...well I'll take the risk. Nad

There is a picture of a Dräger Nova mounted to an APD breather on the Evo page of their website, SDS' probably too. Same picture is on the Evo flyer. At European shows they had the mask at the booth, Janwillem has pictures of it on his website. You have an Rebreather pod, don't you? Where did that come from? ![]() Dr. Mike has one, several divers in FL do, one in NY does ... Nad, I agree, for OC the AGA can't be beat. Top quality, excellent second stage, good comfort, good field of vision, fair price. For Rebreather I will try and check out the Widolf and Dräger one of these days. Need an Rebreather first, though. ![]()

Is the larger frame and lense compatable with my KM OC/CC pod? I must admit the reduced field of vision is not a big deal and is far outweighed by the benefits of the mask in particular the removable pod with seperate oral/nasal cavaties, however if a larger frame is available and I can still use the OC/CC pod I might upgrade. As we know the KM48 OC/CC pod is no longer available but as Ive previously mentioned the KM48 mask with the OC pod (no OC pod fitted) and fix a KISS OC/CC valve in the pod makes a good, cheap and useful FFM with all the benefits of a FFM and none of the disadvantages. I wouldnt dive a Rebreather without a ffm as protecting my airway has to be no.1 consideration, I love diving with the KM48 although Ive never tried any other type I dont fancy the idea of having to bail off the whole mask in the event of a mask flood (something you dont have to do with teh KM48) |
