M-48 Ffm

Hi all,

After diving with DrMike a few weeks ago, I think about buying a Kirby-Morgan M-48 full-face mask.

Please could you share your experience about this mask?
- Do you have the NATO rebreather pod or do you simply use the DSV of your rebreather?
- What do you think about the conveniency and the durability of the mask?
- Is the mask a problem to easily look at a HUD?

I have made some dives with Kirby-Morgan M-48 but only in open circuit.

I It's a reliable and comfortable equipment and I had thought to I use with the rebreather too. Cedric, have you try it with yours rebreather during dives. If yes, which your impressions about?

Interesting, this must depend on your face shape, since I dived one last year and found it the most uncomfortable thing on the planet.

what shape is your face?

FWIW I find it comfortable but I guess YMMV.

Im not knocking them, merely pointing out that not everyone gets on with them

I dont look too prity at the moment. Bad combination of too much booze, boredom, an electric hair trimmer and a disposable razor - who loves yah baby!

No but seriously, i have a Scubapro FFM and it will stay on even without the straps, just like a normal mask, perhaps not 'just' like a normal mask but it will stay there as long as i don't move much.

Hi Mike,

Where did you buy your mask? I don't find any shop in SEA that can give me a quote on the NATO rebreather pod.
