Fin I have only dived the mask twice so far, but is very confortable. I'm not sure what you mean by 'open loop' But with the twist of the knob on the front you pass from CC to OC in 1 second, without removing anything, (mask or mouthpiece) the dead air space is a concern and you have to make a consiuos effort not to breath through your nose, howether, in the picture you will notice that i haven't put the reg mouthpiece on the loop yet but will be going on today after a small modification, thus making breathing only through the mouth feel more natural and help reducing if not eliminating the problem, allso with the mouth piece in you can flood the mask and not worry about water entering the loop. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CC/OC DSV FFM Project. Sorry for busting in... I'm unable to imagine strong reasons to dump the mouthpiece unless you plan to integrate communications. The moment you have problems with your mask you also start loosing your primary life-support system. IMHO this only makes sense when the whole setup supports positive pressure in your mask. Any other reasons? THX, Hoffi. |

Any other reasons? THX, Hoffi. Dumping the mouth piece isn't really an option on CC because any water that come into the mask can flow directly into the loop. The only 'problems' i can think of with your mask is water comig in it, and thus the mouthpiece. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CC/OC DSV FFM Project. Ah, you intend to use a mouthpiece, exactly what my question was about. Besides, I sympathize with the idea of modular FFM's, f.e. the one Dottore Mike is using (KM 48 Supermask assumed) as it does not give away the advantages of using a halfmask. cheers hoffi |
