| Re: Nova mouth peace Any one pls advise me on how to get the mouth bite closer to my mouth in this FFM? Seemed like this for me too when I first tried it on, but I tightened the straps of the mask nice and snug and when it is on properly then i can reach it and it is ok.Its too far away is it adjustable? Otherwise I don't know how to adjust... |

| Re: Nova mouth peace I'm kind of having the same problem. The slider is pushed as far in as possible, but it still seems too short. It might just take more time fitting the mask, and tightening the straps to bring it closer to my face. Is there a nack to it? |

I find that I have to stick my finger in through the hole where the loop fits and just push it back slightly to get it in my mouth. Apart from that it's very comfortable to dive with and certainly one of the best investments I have ever made. Stuey |

| RebreatherWorld Sponsor ![]() ![]() | Re: Nova mouth peace Hi Micko, Do you have a new mask or a used one?? The reason I ask is that with use the sliding base the mouthpiece snaps onto can become stuck all the way forward and can be almost impossible to slide back to the rear position. There is a locking cover nut that can be removed to facilitate servicing the base and sealing o'ring but it is VERY tight and you will need a special pin spanner to remove it. You can however put a little christolube in the slot it slides in and then work it forward and place some lube behind it and work the adapter back and forth to lubricate it. This works pretty well and I have done it to mine many times. If you can slide the adapter (and the mouthpiece) back and forth without any trouble you are most likely not fitting the mask correctly in the beginning. It is important you follow the instructions and tighten the straps accordingly. Firstly place the mask over your head and position it with your chin in the bottom of the mask. Place the mouthpiece in your mouth. Put a finger inside the P Port and push it in if you cannot get it and grip it with your teeth. Whilst gripping the mouthpiece with your teeth tighten the bottom straps TIGHTLY (as tight as you can get them) Then tighten the middle straps tightly but not as tightly as the bottom ones. Finally just snug up the top strap taking the slack out of it but do not pull the mask when tightening the strap otherwise you will pull the mask up too high and out of position. Your chin should be sitting well within the mask. Be careful not to get any hair or any part of your hood under the skirt or it will cause a leak and will drive you nuts. Let me know if you still have trouble with it. Regards, Lance
