Panorama to Inspiration

Hi Folks I would like to connect my Inspiration to my Drager Panorama Nova "P" port and I wanted to know what options there are. I don't need a BOV as the mask will take a reg in the side for Bail Out. I've been trying to ask questions with Divematics, I sent an email and they don't seem to understand basic English. I got a reply but it had nothing to do with the Question. Further emails haven't received a reply. This is getting quite urgent now as I'm off on a big trip. Please don't reply telling me to search the forums as I'm sure that this question has been asked before. I'm on a 16kbs connection and a page takes ages to load. Thanks Simon

Re: Panorama to Inspiration

Simon,

Don't know if this will trigger someone's memory but, just from memory I seem to remember a photo of a guy on an Inspiration using a Panorama in the some of the photos from John Chatterton's and Richie Kohler's trip to dive the Britannic.

Try PM-ing them on here to find out who it was, or maybe Frankie Pellagrino who I think was on that trip too.

Hope this helps,

Cheers Bud,

Dave.

Re: Panorama to Inspiration

DrMike was making some adaptors to fit a normal reg to a P port, something like that should work if you can get hold of one.

Re: Panorama to Inspiration

You could fit Inspiration Threaded Golem BOV
Golem Gear, Inc. - Rebreather BOV - Vario - Threaded
with blanking plate instead of second stage
Golem Gear, Inc. - OC Reg blank for Golem BOV
That makes it a compact DSV

How much for the DSV with a blank vs the second stage?

Thanks,

Re: Panorama to Inspiration

Hey Simon
I personally don’t know any body who connected a Panorama to a Inspiration. But If your in a pinch and have the cash the easiest way is to buy a Golem gear BOV designed for the Inspiration hoses. I know you don’t need or want a BOV ….But that might be the best / fastest way to go. My second choice would be to buy a Drager DSV with the P-Port connection. It would be cheaper and you would have to figure out a way to connect your kits Breathing Hoses.
Best of luck

P.S.
Dave, the divers used Kirby Morgan M48’s

You can go the adapter route, Jakunbd dsv or

maybe buy the Drager dsv that comes already with a p-port fitting

Dräger Panorama Nova Dive Vollgesichtsmaske + Ersatzteile | Online Shop | W+S Water Safety Europe GmbH | Seit 1999

Not sure how easy it is to match the hoses.

They have the dsvs in stock.

Personaly I think id rather get jakubs bov and kill 2 birds with one stone

The problem with the Draeger dsv is that doesn't have any mushroom valves, they are in the hose ends. Makes fitting a bit more awkward, probably best to get the hoses as well and do the adapting at the T pieces.

Agree Jakubs bov, with or without a second stage, is the neatest solution but would prefer it if he used rebreather mushroom valves rather than 2nd stage exhaust valves.

Re: Panorama to Inspiration

The Vario model uses Drager rebreather mushroom valves.

Simon, I just saw a setup where the diver used a Orobouris, um,er, (gawd, HOW does one spell it?) a BORIS () DSV. This is connecting to a Mk series, but may be another option.
