i have an mk-48 mask. i have tried to get a nato pod from kirby morgan, that was a waste of time, you think it was top secret. so can anybody me retro fit my mk-48 for an inspiration or point me in the write direction to get a nato pod.

Hi guys,
I have an M48 mask and used it with the Meg. I never dove an Inspo but the M48 should fit any DSV out there. If your DSV comes with a mouthpiece, all you have to do is remove it and replace it with the mask's pod and custom mouthpiece. Here's a link with some photos, see post#7. My mask is still available if anyone wants to buy it (two dives on it).

The basic answer would be forget the Nato pod even exists ! there are a handfull in "civilian " hands & when one was sold on ebay by our own drmike it went for around $1500 IIRC .

Well, the mask itself cost around $500, the NATO pod was around $750 IIRC.
That and the scarcity explain the high prices they can fetch.

thats what i did and it works great. i am hoping to see ap new bov at bts in march. if it looks good i will order one

I'm selling mine for $400 and it includes bag, manual and KM second stage. The mask retails for about $500 if you buy it from a distributor or direct from KM. I think it's more like $550 if bought at a dive shop but not sure.

I talked with Dive Lab in Florida about two years ago and they were willing to sell me a nato pod. Never bought it but if I contact them again I'll post what they say. All of the CCR divers with the Ocean Futures filming expeditions can get them and they're French! So much for only selling them to US armed forces...
